Chassis battery

We purchased a 2022 Thor Class C about 3 months ago. We have not yet used it, but have a trip
Planned in about a week. That being said, we have been starting the engine and running the generator approximately every 3 weeks. We were doing this about a week ago and the battery was totally dead. Keep in mind this is a brand new camper. My husband doesn't see how a brand new battery can be totally dead since as I said, we've been starting it and letting it run on a regular basis. Any ideas as to why this would happen?

Parasitic draw will kill a brand new battery. Google how to find a parasitic draw or watch some youtube videos on the subject. You could have something that is draining the battery, something 'left' on. The battery may be defective, it does happen. Even though you have a 2022, the unfinished chassis could and probably is a lot older. Thor may have mis-wired something in the assembly that is draining your battery. Lots of things can lead to a dead battery. Good luck on finding the solution.

As Lt said your 2022 motorhome is probably built on a 2021 chassis. Battery is at least a year old. Anyway, we just had to replace our battery in our Jeep. Started fine never an issue then come out of grocery one day & dead. Battery tested out with bad cell. It happens. Pull the battery take to auto parts store and have it tested. If you're lucky it'll be a bad battery. I'd rather change a battery than start chasing parasitic draws

Do you know about the Use/Store switch in the RV? Perhaps the battery is left on to the RV and the battery is being used to power something like the LP detector.

Make sure the Battery switch is OFF or in the Store position.
