Chateau 24f 2018 Slide Bowing?

Hi,

We had the slide adjusted at our long-time repair shop, because we'd get rain on the floor when traveling, and they mentioned the slide is bowing in the center due to the length. They suggested another company that could do some reinforcing.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thanks!

Pretty broad explanation. What did they mean by "bowing in the center"?

24F owner here. Did your long time repair shop tech show you exactly where the water is leaking? Is it a bulb seal? A wiper seal? Then... WHY is the slide bowing? Collapsed rollers? Misalignment?

When a mechanic is charging me to diagnose problems, I have them SHOW me the WHAT, WHY and WHERE of the problem. Then I'm better prepared if I'm fixing it myself, or taking it to another repair facility.

2017 24F owner and no bow on slide. I did get water on the floor in multiple places. Where did you specifically find water? Did you find it while driving or after opening the slide?

I have had leaks in 3 places 1) rear vertical slide wiper due to wiper not being long enough, 2) corner trim on the slide where the caulk failed, 3) bulb seal on the top front edge of the slide below the slide topper. All 3 left water in different places.

About a week ago I noticed the front bulb seal had slid down a couple inches... AND the top one had slid rearward about an inch. I slid them back into place and glopped some ProFlex on the end, then clamped until dry.

No leaks, but that was a recipe for disaster with the slide out.

Hi,

We found it as we extended the slide, and it was a caulking problem.

Do you mind posting a pic to show where it was leaking? Could be a design flaw, and could help other unsuspecting 24F owners!

Hi,

The water was under the edge of the slide next to the step-up to the closet area. It was about a foot long and was maybe 1/4 cup of water. We couldn't see it while traveling and discovered after we extended the slide.
