Discovered a Hidden Block Heater

I was researching online for a block heater and found one and noticed something I thought I had seen on the Magnitude. The wiring for the block heater has some foil type insulation and that is what I thought I had seen.
Well sure enough, if you have this wire on the passenger side, then you have an engine block heater.
You just have to take off the front bumper to get to it. It is tucked in there and secured with a c-type clip. Don't worry, it's only 8 screws keeping that bumper attached (two on the front corner of each bumper and four directly in the middle under the bumper. Have fun with the bottom corner ones. I could barely get my fingers in there and I have extremely small hands.
I just rerouted it to the front and zipped tied it.
Sorry I didn't take pics while I was doing it, I always forget.

Well I'll be darned, I appear to have one too! I talked to the Ford parts guy today and looked at the schematic.

Did your heater have the 110 plug module? He told me that sometimes they put in the block heater and the proximal wiring but not the plug extension. I guess I'm going to be taking off my bumper soon...

I知 not sure what you mean by proximal wiring. All i know is that the wire runs from the plug in the block and the other end runs to the bumper and has the 110 three prong plug. I値l take a picture of the plug later. I値l also take pictures of the screws that remove the bumper.

If it has the 110 plug end that's perfect. The wiring apparently has a connector upstream, and the ford folks said sometimes they don't include the final piece with the 110 plug on unfinished chassis models.

Just a little different. Thor just put our bumper over the stock chrome bumper. The plug was kept in place with a c type clamp in the same location as yours.
They also cut a portion from each tow ring and just left the rest there, instead of just removing the whole ring.

All the Ford Diesels I have ever ordered had an option to purchase the cord. The block heaters are standard in each and every engine.

The cord attaches at the heater

I haven't ordered one in a couple of years so it could have changed

Luckily for some of us, the cord is already installed and ready to to.

I sold my 6.7 F350 (now I tow/dive a Ranger...big change) so have not been keeping up with the engine. However as far as I know all the 6.7 Diesels have a glow plug installed. As Mcguire states, the option is the power cord.
