Hi folks. I think this is my first post on here and I am happy to be a member of the forum. We recently bought a 2008 Four Winds Siesta 21 BC. This class C (or B+) is about 22 1/2 feet long. we got it for a good price and then put some money in it to wash it, detail, then compound, wax and make some small repairs and additions, such as a new awning. All in all, I think we’re going to be very happy with it.
By the way, it only has 14,000 miles on the Chevy 6L Vortech V8. I just had it checked out at Chevrolet and other than changing a couple of fluids they said the cab is in awesome shape.
My question regards miles per gallon. I was hoping we would get around 10 to 12 MPG on the highway with the RV carrying average weight. We haven’t had it out on the highway yet as we’ve been doing things to it. However, just driving it around town, it looks like I’m getting only about 5 miles per gallon. I’m hoping it’s gonna be at least double that on the highway with the price of gas these days. Do any of you have a similar model or can anyone give me some insight as to what I might expect?
Thanks so much
