Frameless windows..... yeh or ney?

I prefer the old slide-open windows, not just because of superior ventilation, but also because the screens on the frameless windows are a terrible design. The little flimsy plastic clips that hold them in get broken and lost. People tend to lean against them by the dinette, bunks, and bed, and they get pushed into the frame, and again those plastic clips get broken.


Where can I get replacements for those plastic clips?

They must have cheapened them, on our 2014 the clips are metal.

I like the frameless design because they do a better job of keeping the rain out; when you leave them open during a storm...

Do not care for the frame-less designs....

Will just keep the ZipDee window awnings deployed for the rain issue(s)

I’ve had both and I’m a big fan of frameless dual pane windows. They are MUCH quieter on the road and far easier to keep sealed against leaks. Plus they look much nicer and work as well on rainy days as dry. It’s true that they are less effective in terms of ventilation but it’s a simple matter to turn on the ceiling vent and in many newer coaches these are nearly noiseless. But it’s like so much else in RVs - everyone has their own individual preferences and that is why there are so many cool choices on the market.

One question for you all... my rubber seals on the windows all have about a 1" gap in the bottom middle. Why is that? I tend to get wind noise with those gaps and was wondering if I couldn't just fill that gap with a seal....


Does yours have gaps, too?

Like they way they look, really didn't experience any noise problems with them on the Gemini, but they did seem pretty flimsy, though again we did not experience problems with them. I got more road and wind noise from the entrance door, managed to quiet it some by double sealing it, but it still made more noise than I would have liked.
