No road noise problem, but on my first trip out, one of the windows was not closed. The air currents pulled the open/close mechanism off its track & I had to duct tape the window closed for the rest of the trip until I could get it repaired. I have noticed if I do not tightly close the windows, they can start to jiggle open. So I make sure to close them very tightly before driving off & have had no more problems in 16,000 miles.
But poor air circulation is definitely a problem! Can these windows be replaced with something more functional?

Frameless Windows suck
First RV as an adult. Can't believe all the vibration and wind noise and clacking of the shades. They don't allow a breeze in due to their small openings, I could live with that if I didn't think the window was going to drop out while traveling.

We put our shades up when traveling...our 2016 Axis on its maiden voyage seemed quiet and relatively noise free moving down the road. Our first motorhome, many yrs ago...we were always searching for rattles/noise...many times generated by pans and dishes not properly stored. That can be a real challenge and .. make sure your roof vents are tight...they will create alot of noise if flapping in the breeze ! and...if you have slide windows..they will work loose when on the road and will create alot of noise. So, if you like your windows open while on the road..expect that noise...no avoiding it !

If you have covers over your roof vents, you can open the vent up to the cover. No rattles and you'll get some circulation that way.
Side windows open? Imagine your house windows open with a 60+ mph wind. Whoosh!

I reallyy like the sleek looks of thes windows. I have not really noticed a problem with cross flow, when they are all open. I do have two powered vents in the roof though. I'll pay better attention next time out. But again, I like them.

No problems here with the side windows.
FWIW: By mistake I turned off the bedroom roof vent but did not close it one camping trip out and we found that the ride home was quieter (I credited it to a tail wind instead of a head wind). Once home I discovered the vent was not closed, so I closed it. On next road trip there was an increase in noise (kind of like when one of the kids would open a back window in the old Dodge Mini-Van too much and you got that woosh pulse sound/feel). I had my DW go back and just crack the reat vent and the noise went away.

we also like the windows and 15K miles later haven't noticed any window noise. I have so many dash ratters on the drivers side that the windows are quite. Yes, they don't open fully, but on my other RVs the framed windows didn't either. It's a matter of taste, you either like them or not.

I like the look of them. Granted I don't have my rv yet because it's still being built BUT I did have the windows opened on the model I was looking at and there seemed to be a good cross breeze while sitting in the lot. I hope everything works out just as well when I take delivery of mine in June.

Just broke my window by the dinette table. Cost to repair was 2500. They are definitely not cheap windows.

They do look good. However, the air flow is only adequate with the use of the ceiling exhaust fans.
The passenger side window in my 25.1 has developed a slow leak since I have been in New Orleans. We do have torrential downpours.
Caulking has only slowed down the water intrusion.
On my way back to PA, I will be leaving the Axis at Thor's repair facility. The leak came to my attention right at the end of the warranty period. I am pleased to report that Thor did not hesitate to cover it under warranty.

We have a Thor Axis 24.1 are thinking of replacing our window in the slide with the old type slide windows. These new type just don't give much air circulation. Use to have a Winnebago and sure did prefer those type. Did you end of doing this modification?

A Fantastic Fan is much cheaper and provides better air flow than cross ventilation.

I've also had a couple issues with the small wheels that push the windows open and closed, jumping out of the track. They are very difficult to get back in.

Yep, lost the works on a trip out (after five years) when I got home, looked at the wheels and also noted that they are slightly on the short side. Ended up making a new set of wheels with less play - the wheels are actually guides. Works great now.

They look really nice and while I don’t have any personal experience I was in the service department a while back and someone that had used to have them on their coach didn’t like them. Now I say used to have them because they fell out while driving. I am sure there was some operator error and it’s isolated but that sure wouldn’t be a good feeling while driving.

I am sure it was operator error kind of like opening the fire escape one. Doesnt take much for that to fall out

The ones I heard about falling out are those that were left open while driving. The wind makes the open part of the window act as a kite and away it goes. In one case it cost the RV owner an insurance claim to repair the car in the next lane that was damaged by the flying window.
My Owners manual says to close the windows and raise the shades before driving. The Challenger manual said the same thing and I never had a window problem in the five years we had that rig.
