New Thor Buyer

Hi! I just bought a 2022 Four Winds 31W. Can anyone tell me what hoses and cables come with the new unit from Thor? I'm new to owning a class C, and I'm not sure what to expect to be included and what I need to buy.

Welcome to the forum!
Thor doesn't supply any hoses...
Discuss with your dealer the possibility of getting at least a 25' drinking water hose, a 25' clean-out hose, and a 20' sewer hose...
The rig should come with a power cable. You may want to pick up some dogbone adapters; so that you could plug it into power sources that aren't directly compatible.

Thanks

Thank you, Bob. I was afraid of that! Hopefully my dealer will be in a generous mood when I come for delivery.

Just to fill out Bob’s list a bit...

For fresh water: Drinking water rated hose, pressure regulator and a filter. While PEX pipes in the coach are rated for higher pressure water, the PEX fittings Thor uses are not. In addition the water hoses in the slide, outdoor shower and city water interior connections are not higher pressure rated.

For electrical hookup: A surge protector for your main power. Connects at the power pedestal between it and your coach. The most useful dogbone I have is a 15 amp to 30 amp. It will allow you to connect to a 15 amp circuit at home in order to chill the fridge before a trip as well as charge the coach batteries.

For gray/black water dump: At least two 10’ sewer hoses. A clear 45 degree connection to hook to the dump output of the coach so you can see the flow as you dump. A 4-in-1 sewer adapter for dump hookup. And, get a sewer donut seal since some of the older campgrounds might not have 3 or 4 inch threaded connections.

Welcome to the forum. You try negotiating anything you would like from the dealer. RV starter kit no (hoses) valve stem extensions, vent covers. I always negotiate the vent covers etc. and buy my own quality hoses instead of settling for the cheap starter kit. As a note, when I negotiate that stuff it goes into the purchase agreement so they can’t back out of the agreement. I have never bought vent covers, valve stem extensions, surge protectors or tire covers.

Just to add for future purchase.. Get a 30' extension power cord.. (30a or 50a whatever your coach uses)

Curious here. Did you find a 2022 on the dealers lot or is the coach on order? I am asking this because we ordered a Quantum at the end of January and was told by the dealer that it would not be delivered until June and would be a 2022 and not a 2021.

Personally I would not buy the hose (or anything else) from the dealer. He is (most likely) going to sell you one of those White or blue Camco ultra stiff hoses that you will have to fight with, especially in colder climates. Many (including me) have gone with this one. You can get it from Lowe's or Amazon.
Also the dealers are usually way higher in cost.

As for the pressure regulator, I (and others) found this one to give you the best (Flow) since many of the cheaper ones restrict the flow of water when many campground have lousy flow to begin with. It's also pressure adjustable.

Also need.
*Portable RV Surge Protector (a must) Campsite electrical is not very reliable and can cause many dollars in damage. Much more than the cost of the protector itself.
*Electrical cord adapters (30 amp to 50 amp, 30 amp to 15 amp. Have gotten to a site and found the plug that I needed did not work and had to utilize a different plug. Without these adapters, your out of luck. The 30 to 15 is good so you can plug the unit into a standard 15-20 amp plug when you just want to keep battery charging or starting up the frig before a trip.
* Sewer hose/s

I'm sure other will suggest more, but these are the basics.

Get Free Stuff

Welcome to the Forum and enjoy your new rig.

When I bought a new rig from General RV they hooked me up with a free store credit for a few hundred dollars. After the PDI and signing off on all the paperwork I got to go on a free spending spree in their super big well stocked RV store. Water hose, sewer hose kit, leveler pads, couple nice gravity chairs, some Yetti tumblers and cooler and a Webber Q Grill. All I put in was about $100 they covered the rest. Was a very fun day. Put the bite on your dealer at pickup and paper signing by asking what do I get for free? All the other dealers give new buyers a bunch of needed stuff.

Arrow

Go back to the dealer and get 'your' after the fact walk-through. Pose any and all questions you can think of.

Welcome to the forum, well it looks like you got plenty of help already, so I'm not going to burden you with things you need, I'd say go play, you'll figure out what you need additionally as you go. I didn't notice if you were in cold country or warm. If in cold, I would suggest a electric heater hose, so you don't freeze the water if you do any winter camping.

I have a 33SW FourWinds, still loving it and it's a 2015.

Welcome aboard and congrats on your new coach.
You have gotten some good info from the gang. I would add toilet chemical. A truck tire pressure gauge so you can check the pressure on the inner dual's
