I like to run the engine when operating the jacks, which are hydraulic. I don’t have to but I run out the big slide before shutting it off.

When you aren’t charging the batteries (from engine, shore power, or batteries ) you start at battery voltage of about 12.5. When charging from any source you have over 14 volts. That is easier on motors.

You get the most current when running the engine.

Many require the engine to be running and you do have to have adequate battery voltage regardless

My slides wont work if the engine is running (ACE 30.1). Where I store the power cord, water hose, etc is below the slide so I get everything hooked up first - including SP and then put the slide out. I have hardly used my generator except to start it now and then to keep the seals intact. I tried to start it last week and it was as if there was no power to the unit. Couldn't prime it or anything. Took a look on the internet and found a You Tube video that showed where to check a reset or circuit breaker near the house batteries. Reset it and it started right up. Now I am wondering what caused the breaker to trip?
