Generator not so loud now

When we purchased this new Class C and traded in our diesel pusher one of the things I was disappointed in was how noisy the generator was compared to the QD8000 diesel in our Class A. I placed Kilsmat all around the generator and the floor near the generator and that helped but it still was loud compared to the QD8000. A few weeks ago I had the motorhome jacked up so I could swap the front tires side to side and noticed the generator tailpipe was very close to the safety loop that I assume protects the tailpipe from being snagged by objects and brush. You could move the tailpipe with your hand and make it bang against the loop. I bent the tailpipe so it was equal distance from the loop on both sides. Did not run the generator for a test because the motorhome is in a garage. We are out in the motorhome now to fill the propane and since the generator has not been ran lately hooked up a 1500 watt heater and ran the generator. I immediately noticed the generator only made a dull noise back at the panel. As I write this sitting in the dunnite almost directly over the generator it is very quite. If you have a noisy generator make sure the tailpipe is not vibrating against something.

Had the same issue with the engine exhaust rubbing on the aft most compartment heat shield. While at the ford dealer for the steering I had them heat and bend it. Thor had previously told me they would reimburse me for the repair. Got the check yesterday.

I have the Chateau 28Z and a month or so ago I was getting ready to go on a trip and noticed the generator tailpipe was bent so far it was parallel with the RV (front to back) Bent it back and thankfully it was not creased. Cannot figure out how I could have caught onto something that bent it that badly.
I am trying to figure out how to fabricate some sort of steel bar to protect it in the future.
