Getting to backside of water heater

2021 Thor Chateau we found our leak! Coming from the water heater under the sink, but have a triangle shelf with two small drawers on the right. Rather not take the water heater out and would like to check the connections first while it's still all connected.
Has anyone been here before? Did you remove the shelf?

Didn't know you had a leak.

If you can get to the water heater water connections to remove it, can't you just check them for tightness without removing it?

An d yes, getting to the back of the water heater can require some "disassembly".

Water heater

Shucks... Suppose that getting it fixed right and doing it ourselves [as we usually do as we can], will take some work. We thought we were getting the leak from rainy roads coming in somehow, but seeing the water further inside from the wall, and in the slide did more investigating and found this. Some of the frustration/mystery is gone. Now to dig in and make it righ!
Just the heater issue to fix. That will require taking it in. Fan comes on and 4-9 times to light and stay on. Ugh.

I had to remove all 6 drawers, shelf assembly under sink and most of tje furnace duct work to repair drain that goes from sink into Grey tank. Also, had to do nearly the same to turn valves in the bypass position for winterizing. All that conglomeration was installed before the side wall of the coach was installed. My water heater, furnace, stove, sink drain plumbing, water line to sink and outside shower and furnace was all installed under the kitchen counter with most of it having "flexible" connections because of the slide...which left a 1 foot square hole open to the outside in the floor under this area when extended. Crap design. Get ready for major disassembly amd bloody arms. I traded away from it. We live and we learn...then we die with the perfect coach left behind for the kids.

Water leak

Found and fixed! Took the shelf out from under the sink and exposed everything. All seemed fine till warmed up the water heater. Interesting that the cold line to the sink began to drip. I was able to get a half turn and it stopped. Watching it for a bit longer, reached in to feel, the hot line laying up against the cold was beginning to drip! Got just a smidge of a turn and it quit. Believe the issue is solved! Phew. (Pic link is having trouble)

Good job.

You had used the URL of the page the image was on instead of the URL of the image itself. I fixed that for you.

Nice! On our last trip we had the kitchen sink fail and start leaking water into the slide. Got a new kitchen sink today and will hopefully have it all back together soon…that area is really tight on ours!
