I'm not a fan of them but I'd sure put it right next to the entry door if we're to want one.
The craziness of putting them on the far side of the coach is lost on me.
You can step from a small pan to the door if it's on the door side, or you can traipse over the slinky, the power cable, around the slide, stumble over the God knows what and then hopefully remember to duck the awning bar if you have one all the while tracking dirt/mud/grass onto bare(or not) wet feet and transfered onto the rv floor when it's on the wrong side.

They actually seemed to have been designed for washing off a muddy dog or child...
They even hid mine in the wet bay. You can't even use it while standing!

I've decided they mount them where they do because the designing engineer thinks because he's too stupid to work a slinky without getting it all over himself, so will mere mortals.

We've rved for 40+ years & I don't think I've used the outside shower more than a dozen times in all those years & most of those times were on the dog.
Might have used it more if it were where Duckface mentioned, but maybe not. If I had a choice it wouldn't have been installed anywhere.

Huh...
We love our outdoor shower & have been using it frequently in the last 2 months.

We go to the beach, park on asphalt right off the sand.
So we wash off our feet, or after swimming in the salt water, we shower down our grandchildren.

If shower was located next to the entry door, that would not work for us because then it would be wet & messy where our outdoor carpet, chairs, shoes, exterior TV is.

That’s just how we use it.

The outdoor shower on the street side of the coach has always worked for me. While I don't use it for bathing, it is great for rinsing off stuff. I would put it as close to the water heater as possible if installing one.

They are on the street side near the other water lines to simplify winterizing. Several coaches over the years have installed hot water for windshields, aux showers in other locations, and unless it is some kind of special order majority are very near if not in the water bay.

Main thing I use it for is rinsing out the wet bay to keep it clean

Many folks have used them leaving the hot and cold open with the head shut off, that creates a hot water chasing event

Will that really introduce hot water to the cold side of the system? If so, that could come in handy for winter camping. It could keep the water system from freezing.

Hot water will loop through the shower if both hot and cold are open

Then you may get warm water at a cold faucet

My Chateau 31E has the full wall slideout, and the shower is on the slideout. We don't use it often, but it has been handy for rinsing off muddy dogs or beach sand or my muddy legs after mountain biking. I wouldn't want it on the other side because we want to keep that area clean and dry.

We have a travel trailer and don't use ours either, but thinking about motor homes with a outside shower mounted in the wet bay. What if you were to put a quick disconnect in place of the shower head along with a back flow preventer then use with your tank flush when you get to the dump station? Would that work?

That's a neat idea!
It might be worth an experiment or two... you'll want to make sure that you've got enough pressure and flow rate; to make things work properly.

You could even turn on the hot side and give it a shot to help free up the Clingons!

We bought our Vegas from friends in Fl in the spring. Drove it back up to MA during love bug season. Took off the shower head and put on a hose adaptor and was able to hose off the windshield with hot water to clean off all those suckers while at a Boondocking spot. Not super pressure but does work as a hose supply
