No you need 4 oz ( 1/2 cup). A cup is 8 oz.

Four ounces mixed with a gallon of water and added to the fresh water tank, I use my winterizing manual pump, so eight ounces in 2 gallons of water is enough for a 30 gallon tank

1/4 cup to a gallon of water for every 15 gallons of tank capacity. That is 1/2 cup to 2 gallons of water for 30 gallons of tank capacity. 1/2 cup is 4 fluid ounces. That provides a solution of 50 ppm for sanitizing. 8 ounces would result in 100 ppm which is used in extreme circumstances.

You see!
This is why I'm not allowed anywhere near the checkbook!

I used to have one of those "Chemistry for Dummies: Kits...

Cant believe how difficult everyone has with this

1/4 cup per 15 gal.
Forget ounces seems that's messing several people up

Mix your bleach in a gal container and pour it into your fresh water tank then fill tank as normal

Pretty simple and NOT complicted

Best to use an old 55 gallon drum. You just add a cup and a half of bleach in it and then transfer the entire contents to your freshwater tank. Easy peasy.[emoji1][emoji1]

You don’t. Mix the proper amount of solution pour it in the tank and then fill the tank with water. In my case I mix 4.75 gallons of solution suck it into the tank and then fill the tank with 67 gallons of fresh water. I use a Home Depot 5 gallon bucket to mix the solution.

Your owners manual should have the correct procedure for your rig.

For those of you winterizing (Well its too late now for some ). I rather use the RV anti-freeze to two reason:

1). I read somewhere that (over time) the faucet o rings will dry out when using "air only" to winterize. So the Pink stuff will kept them soft and supple.

2) IMO Most air compressors are pushing wet, Oiliy / DIRTY air into your water lines. (Sure some have filters but the avg person IMP does not). I perfer to keep mine watersystem as clean as possible (I do use it for drinking). But I always sterlize the tanks in the spring so that should clean out the waterlines .....so this point may be moot.

I just thought I would point that out. Only takes me about 1.5 GAL of RV Anti-freeze and like 10 - 15 minutes to compete the job.
