Sanitizing Solution
I saw a recent thread on sanitizing using bleach. Thought I’d share a product I found that is more effective than bleach but totally nontoxic. It’s called Danolyte. Their website is www.Danolyte.co, not .com, just .co. My wife uses it around the house since Covid-19 showed up.

Thanks for posting about it!
Since my Missus has just about every co-morbidity factor possible: I'll tell her about it.

You do realize this product is 500 ppm free chlorine
5.25% bleach us around 50,000 ppm chlorine
Bleach is alkaline due to a bit of NaOH from the manufacturer process

Too funny!

No more choosing between a clean and disinfected environment and one filled with harmful chemicals. Most people haven’t heard of Danolyte or hypochlorous acid (HOCL) prior to Covid-19. Little did they know its a non-corrosive solution
|
So hypochlorous acid is not corrosive or a harmful chemical?
Definition:
hypochlorous acid (uncountable)
(chemistry) a weak, unstable acid, HOCl, known only in solution; it is made by the action of chlorine on water and, along with its salts, the hypochlorites, is used as a household bleach
So it may be a great disinfectant, but it is a "bleach" and works the same way normal household bleach works. So at $65 a gallon, I think I'll stick with a properly diluted chlorine bleach solution
(which contains..................
Wait for it................................................ .................
hypochlorous acid)
which is also harmless to the touch after the chlorine has oxidized.

3% hydrogen peroxide is also very effective on CV and any living organism
Nice to handle and not nearly the issues

I wonder how Bacardi's 151 Rum works on killing the virus?
Ahhh... Drink enough of it; you won't care!

If I can keep my units straight the OP product is roughly the equivalent of 1.28 fl oz of bleach in 1 gallon of water - 500ppm. CDC recommendation is for 2.5 fl oz bleach per gallon.
I’ll stick with bleach - it is the most cost effective piece of mind for me.

So I just tried this: 1 oz 151 and 5 oz coke....for me. 1 oz 151 on the countertop. Seemed to work just fine. Got a funny look from my wife. She also doesn’t like it when I vacuum with a beer in one hand.

I see nothing at all wrong with your vacuuming technique.
After all: it's not like it takes two hands to run one.

In Vietnam at NSA Det Cat Lo we often went into the village for "R&R." Being leery of the water from the common well, we mixed it with 151 Rum. A delicious and safe drink known to this day simply as "Rum & Well Water."
