Kitchen drain

I am unable to send a private message in response to Thor Team because I just joined. Any suggestions? They haven’t returned my call from 2 weeks ago. I’m at a loss here.

Did you look at some of the solutions provided in your other thread?

I think that you have to reach a cedrtain number of posts before that right is afforded to you.
If this is still about your sink drain pipe snapping under slide movement: have you tried watching what happens when the slide moves? what is iut catching on?

Yes thank you. But the only solution I have seen that seemed to work permanently I have suggested to more than one service person and no one seems to listen. I did talk to Thor today and their suggestion is reroute the hose. Maybe with a more flexible hose and swivel connection that might be an option. But their original “flexible” hose is not very flexible.

I have no doubt that some re-routing is in order...
But the more flexible hose? I guess that you'll have to investigate that possibility for yourself.
By the way: what is YOUR solution?

Good luck, and happy hunting!

De-winterize, turn on shore water, no leaks. Great! Vent kitchen sink and water starts flowing under cabinets. Not good. A fitting on the sink drain line had just pulled out when the slide went out. Maybe the flex hose was too stiff from the cold. The bad part was the fitting is WAY back there - can only get one hand on it. It's a 2" PVC fitting....I tried to lengthen the fitting a little so it wouldn't pull out again. Nogo - the now-longer line bent more when the slide came in and forced the fitting apart....the geometry is very sensitive to hose length
Gave up and took cabinets apart so I could work with two hands. Re-glued original fitting with PVC cement. Put a metal clamp over the joint. Cut out one brace underneath so drain hose could flex easier.

So far so good.

There are a ton of issues that have been dealt with on all the different brands, seems to be way to common with Monaco leading the pack for several years

I think that I have about the same set up as yours on my Ultimate Advantage, and have had the same problem, except on mine it always pulls away at the swivel connection elbow where it goes from the slide into the cabinet. What it did last time that it pulled loose. I replaced that section of the ABS pipe and elbow with an 1 1/2 inch rubber elbow and hose coupler. My thought process on this was to make that part that bends a little less ridged. Not sure that's the answer, but we will see.

Other solutions out there if you do an internet search

Yes, and while I hate to be discouraging to anyone I had the same problem on my Winnebago Vista which had its kitchen in the full wall slide. I consider myself to be fairly resourceful and I made several attempts to stop leaking and never was 100% successful. When we decided to trade (not for that reason I’ll add!) one of the several things on our “must have” list was NO plumbing in a slide! It’s just an engineering complication that we no longer need.

It's kind of too late for that now; but I agree: no plumbing in the slides.

So the plumbing in the slide is a terrible idea, I have the freedom elite 30fe so I think I have the same design. The first problem was the vent tube for the heater came off and melt the plastic plumbing. Discovered that once the sink drained all its contents in the coach. The fixes for that was actually to splice in some hot tub tubing and then put heat wrap around it. Then the drain itself had to be repaired. Your best option is to just modify it to how you see fit. If it’s warranty work or dealer they are just going to repair it to factory specs and it will happen again.
