DEET as a repellent is proven to be the most effective "masking agent"... it interferes with the mosquito's receptor mechanism for detecting carbon dioxide and scent.

We just removed all camping deet products and went with STEM etc products.
Dry camping or wet camping the feeling of the sticky deer was uncomfortable.
Especially dry camping where water is a premium.
Our holistic medical friends don't trust deet for the skin and children and pets
