In the morning and in the afternoon, look at the bottom of your slides. You will see light. That is the egress for them. If they see light, they will come! You can grow in small pots several plants that the buggers hate. Place the pots in the sink while traveling.

12 Best Plants and Herbs to Naturally Repel Mosquitoes

The very best bug zapper I ever saw was one my cousin had forty years ago. It zapped big time. When a large bug hit it ZAP, ZAP, ZAP, Buzzzzzzzz and then there were flames! Great show for about twenty seconds. Then the normal zap of the mosquitoes. They had a recall for it because of it being too powerful. It started fires when placed too close to flammable objects. He used his till it died.

The science behind it is mosquitos are attracted to carbon dioxide and body heat and odors - properties of all mammals. It's not light they're attracted to, but the heat typically given off by (historically) incandescent lights. This is why bug zappers work... it's the heat.

DEET as a repellent is proven to be the most effective "masking agent"... it interferes with the mosquito's receptor mechanism for detecting carbon dioxide and scent.

We just removed all camping deet products and went with STEM etc products.
Dry camping or wet camping the feeling of the sticky deer was uncomfortable.
Especially dry camping where water is a premium.
Our holistic medical friends don't trust deet for the skin and children and pets

Had one of these when I was a kid. We used to sit out and watch it like a fireworks show all summer.
