Video tour of the NEW Thor Chateau 22B
I was actually very surprised at how much more space you have in this RV compared to the B-Class Van ... and they are practically the same length.

Space isn’t everything. In a B you don’t don’t have to worry about slides, rubber roofs, fiberglass walls, noisy or rough ride, crummy gas mileage etc. just my opinion.

We take two retrievers and often a couple grandkids too. So on trips of 1-3 weeks with 4 people and two dogs size can be important. We were looking to downsize from our Aria 3401 but will not until we take shorter trips and just the 2 of us.

If you’re gonna go to a 24’ Class C
I like the 22E much better
No slide
And the bed (albeit small) is always available, so you can pull-over & sleep on road 24/7
Also, lightweight, E350 chassis, & lots of towing capacity

We waffled back and forth for a while between a B and a C. Having built my own conversion van out of a Transit T250 in 2017, I know how much fun it is to drive a van (mine was an Ecoboost - I called it my 9' tall Ferrari). But it didn't have a true bath or kitchen, so when Covid really showed the shortcomings of my conversion, we sold it.
Since one of the duties of our RV will be to shuttle us back and forth from Michigan to our condo in FL - storage WAS important. We bought a 2023 Chateau 22E (we don't really need or want a slide) and I think it's going to be perfect for us. The 22B seems to have a slightly bigger kitchen; but I like the massive garage under the corner bed on the "E" model.

That is true but space becomes important for many if you are taking more than 2 people and/or making multiple weeks trips.
in our case, if we ever decide to go to something that small, we will probably get back to towing a camper, probably an Airstream.

Agree with both, except for a corner bed on 22E. After renting a couple of units with corner beds, or any bed where you have to climb over each other at night, I’d rather deal with less space if it means a better sleeping layout/floorplan.
A no-slide compact (narrower) floor plan similar to Winnebago EKKO may be a good compromise for couples that don’t mind Twin/King beds and also want greater fuel economy.

The other "issue" that we had to deal with was bed length: Hubby is 6'3", so MANY of the beds one finds in smaller RVs are too short. The 22E gave us the "twin" option we like - HE sleeps stretched-out in the 54 x 80" corner bed with the dogs; I sleep in the cabover where I can open the window and have it as cold as I like.
