We have a 2021 Thor chateau 31w and need to drain the fresh water tank. Where is the drain for the fresh water tank?

I don't specifically know about the Chateau, but I think that the way Thor plumbed our 2021 Axis is typical:

Find the fresh water tank. It is usually in one of the aft compartments and it sits on the floor. Then on one side of the tank you will see a 1" PVC (I think) line coming out of the side right at the bottom. The line goes to a PVC ball valve and then turns down through the floor. This is the drain line. Open the valve 1/4 turn to drain it.

In my 2019 28e it is on the bottom left side of the tank and drains overboard

We found the fresh water tank and it’s inside under the bed snd you have to move the mattress to open the valve to drain. We do not have a drain connection outside on this unit to drain. So we will have to install one snd run it over to the side where it’s easily accessible. 😱

The freshwater tank in our 28A is also under the bed in the back. We had to lift the mattress, take out the screws to the cover, then we could drain.

I installed an access door in the base of the bed to make getting to the drain valve easier.

Wayne,
What kind of portable tank did you purchase for your waste water. Since our class C is so low should we get a bottom fill instead of top fill?

I didn't say anything about a portable waste water tank.

It should be immediately under the tank, access via the outside storage compartment.

Just like the kitchen sinks. The tailpiece have a habit of cracking just under the sink strainer. I also installed (both shower and kitchen) a Fernco (Rubber) coupling inline to keep any vibrations from further damaging the pipe connections.
DAMN, now I have another job to do. LOL

I installed one in the hall, right outside the shower wall. To be able to get to the leaking shower drain pipes. Now I can see inside and keep an eye on things better.

Are you trying to drain fresh water or waste water?

I'm not a handy person and I'm not prepared to pull up floorboards and stuff. When a "helper" assisted me with my city water hookup he inadvertently filled our fresh water tank. That's when I discovered that there was either no easy to access drain plug or it was so hidden that it made my eyelashes hurt. So... I opened the toilet flush and just let the fresh water tank drain into the black water tank and dumped it as usual. For me, problem solved. May be a dummy idea but it worked.... I think.

You could also add the shower and kitchen sink on the grey water side to make it faster.

Thumbs up

I figured that out after the fact. Lesson learned. Thanks Wayne.

Do you know is that PVC pipe supposed to be loose? Ours appears to not be glued to the valve. (Or it maybe cracked in the valve)?
