Newbie Reaction to Thor and General RV (2 months later)

We have had numerous issues with our new Chateau 24BL but General RV has fixed everyone of them and even added an option (no charge) that we felt was supposed to be on our RV when we purchased it - at no cost - [Thor sent materials to do it.] (Child safety net in front of cubby sleep).
Thor and General RV have been terrific. Again several issues (and we have one more that cropped up on our trip) ALL REPAIRED without question.
We even get a call from General after repairs to make sure they are OK and received a call from Thor asking if everything was OK with our new RV.
Great service from Thor (Ill.) and General RV (Birch Run, MI). [Have never paid anything for service 2 months after purchase...]
Satisfied Customer (Already been on 4 trips in 2 months - 8 states!)

Out of curiosity, how would you classify the majority of the issues as to being manufacturing workmanship defects, issues that occurred with RV while at the dealer, or something that failed after the sail. It is is also relevant to distinguish or classify when an issue is when an OEM vendor. i.e. if AC compressor goes out, there is no AC; but it is it a fault of Thor? But some poster wil blast Thor.

I really appreciate you speaking up for Thor and in this case a Dealer that seems to be doing the right thing.

I wish that I could say the same thing about my experience with General RV in Jacksonville Florida. The service department was by all means the worst I have experienced. The service associate would lie about submitting warranty claims, lie that she called me back over and over, When I escalated to my sales associate he told me there service was not good and he had actually told my service tech to tell the truth and set real expectations. BTW the service manager never returned my repeated calls asking for help. It cost me three or four vacation days because they just didn't care. i ended up trading my General RV gas RV for a Aria from Gander RV. My experience with General RV has been much better and guess what they set real expectations, what a wonderful change. I'm glad you had a good experience and hope you love your new RV!!

My experience with General was the opposite. Sales and delivery folks were subpar but Service is well above average.

Good luck with Camping World.

So many folks like to just complain about every perceived wrong that they have had to endure...

Thanks for saying something nice about a dealership, and your new RV!

What about the peeps that found some metal shavings in their lower bay compartment, or worst a spent plastic water bottle in one of the cabinets? Sometimes I feel Thor's pain. There have issues like everyone else but peeps blow them out the water excessively.

Thor/camping world

Guess you were one of the lucky ones,I had the left side rear view mirror stop working,Thor and camping world acknowledged it was under warranty and replaced it however I had to pay the shipping cost.

Some folks would even be unhappy, if you hung them with a brand new rope...

Especially if the the pine box they had purchased while discounted almost half as part of a factory close out was not made of pressure treated wood

Thor OK by me

Add my name to the list of supporters of Thor service; my sales person at MHS Alvaredo also --- when I arrived home in Houston from my purchase in Alvaredo TX I noticed the bunk ladder missing. One email to my sales guy, he fired off an emai to Thor, and in less than 2 weeks I received my new ladder with no mention of shipping charges. Sometimes things work out. EddieA

Thor flew in a tech, borrowed a bay at a Gander RV, replaced a window that was defective and leaking, rebuilt and recovered the damaged wall, replaced a taillight that leaked, fixed a couple of other things that weren’t right. I am doggoned impressed with Thor’s efforts.

It's good to see that they're getting the message.

We always liked our Outlaw... despite the
Obvious build quality issues.
