2022 Thor 24F HE Electrical Issue

The house battery is showing as 2/3 charged. Im currently boondocked with the generator running. The AC nor the Microwave wont turn on. The house heater works. Fridge works. Does the house battery need to be at fully charged in order for the AC and/or microwave to work? I dont have anywhere to plug in to electric power, yet. From what I have read the generator or running the chassis engine will charge the house battery, but I'm not sure how long it takes. Im just wondering if anyone has some knowledge to share with me.

Thanks!

Check your breakers. The items not running are AC so a blown breaker or bad ATS switch.

No blown breakers. What/where is the ATS switch?

Did you also check the breaker(s) at the generator to be sure they did not trip?

I checked the breaker on the generator itself and it was in the ON position. I flipped it OFF then ON again. Still the A/C and microwave are not working. The breakers under the bed are all ON too. Im wondering if the Automatic Transfer Switch is faulting. I really appreciate everyone's reply. Thank you guys so much. I think I know what happened, when I powered up the RV after it has been sitting a while, The A/C was in the ON position. I think all the applicances need to be OFF before getting power to them.

It does sound like your ATS is at fault: it could be the ATS itself, but more likely it is the twist connect wire connections Thor uses to attach the ATS to the MH wiring.

You action in leaving the A/C on, although not a good practice, did not cause the problem. The problem was already there just waiting to show itself.

It was the ATS switch. This coach is only 1 year old with 1300 miles. I wish I knew the cause. Aside from this issue, it has a lot of storage with less features. Im thinking on looking at motorhomes with more features.

What did you do to discover it was a bad ATS?
