We assume that OP wanted low pressure so he can make a direct connection to grill.
So…I stand corrected, extend a stay is placed before the regulator
Thus, Option 3 is preferred over Option 1 for what the OP is desiring to do.
That is, connect a low pressure hose directly to the grill. Therefore the extension hose must be placed after the regulator.
