Sewage conection blocked by door

I'm posting for a friend who just bought a Delano 24RW . With the wet bay compartment door closed, you can't*connect the sewer*hose, you can open the door and connect*the hose, but then you can't*close the door. Any suggestions?* Thank You,* * *Bruce

Welcome to the site.

Not too familiar with the Delano but on other Thor's the sewer outlet rotates.

If there is a panel at the bottom that you can remove it is likely that the sewer outlet will rotate down towards it.

They're a bit "stiff" to move; but once you get the hang of it:

I removed the door, frame and all, and reinstalled it upside down. I hold the door open with a bungee cord and have clear access to the bottom panel.

The decals did not line up so I removed the ones on the door with no significant effect to the esthetics.

Our shop flipped the rear sewage door due to same issue, they installed this latch to hold up door.

Wouldn't those "reversed" doors stay open by themselves in the original position?

Have you tried a 90 degree elbow?

Maybe a 90 degree adapter would work?

Ha. My post 3 minutes late.

The sewer 90 is inside that boot, you open the access door, spin off the cap under the 90 to access outside, then run the 90 down into that access outlet, then you suppose to hook pipe under rig with door hanging down in your face.

makes it real pain to get your arm up under hanging door and hook up crap pipe.

dumb design!

I use a 2 foot long sewer pipe extension. It's easier to mess with, and it gives us a lot of extra elbow room.

Yes, they would but then they block the sewer connection.

Close the door to get access and you would have to lie on the ground (not a pleasant prospect at a dumping site) to see the connection.

Another issue, on my Axis the screws that secure the round opening at the bottom protruded about a 1/4 inch past below the bottom and were a source of pain and injury. I cut the excess off with a Dremel.

I believe the issue you folks are having on the Axis/Vegas is entirely different than the issue the OP is having with their motorhome and using a reverse door will not help[ them at all.

Igt would be nice if someone with a Delano could provide some info and shed some light on the situation.

Another thought.

Is that flange that the slinky connects to a T or a straight flange. Could it be shortened to allow more clearance between the sewer hose connection and compartment door? If you're not comfortable working that kind of project ask an RV shop if it can be done.

From the pictures I can't see enough to make a solid recommendation one way or the other.

Shorten the outlet or use a 90 elbow. Whoever designed that setup should be flogged.

I had that same problem and had the dealership fix it under warranty. They just had to cut the sewer line to shorten it up and I added a 90 degree clear connection to it. That solved the problem and now I can close the wet bay door with the sewer hose attached.
