Super C out of production

I have been told by Thor that they are not producing any additional Super C motor homes. They are going to come out with a new Super C brand (apparently Chateau and Four Winds will be only Class C). There will be an announcement in September about the new brand. Perhaps this has been on the forum before but if so, I missed it.

If they're coming out with a new and revised Super-C: that can be a really good thing! Let's see what comes for this news: Thanks!

Before purchasing ours...and a big reason I put the process in turbo...I was told by several Thor reps the Super C would be in very limited supply if at all for 2019. There were only 3 new 2018's left in the country when we bought ours. The reason, as I understand it, is availability of the Ford F550 chassis. Commercial trucks sales are off the chart now, truck dealers are putting customers on a wait list, and Ford cannot commit enough chassis' to Thor to make it feasible.

Got a list of available new Super C in the US from Thor and there were 8 on the list.

That would surprise me if they are still available. I got a list from them a while back to find out several were sold already. Either way...if someone is looking for the Super C diesel...better get one now.

If this is due to a shortage of the proper chassis: are there any suitable alternates that might work?

Chassis shortage...yes! Commercial trucks sales are at an all time high and work trucks take precedent. As I heard it, Ford would not commit the required number of chassis' to Thor. Another alternative is the Dynamax built on the Ram 5500 chassis. Similar specs but different layouts completely.

I checked all of the web sites and they all showed them in inventory. However, I think after tomorrow there will be one less available. Looks like a 35SF in our future.

You'll love it. With my limited experience so far with mine, if I can help with any features let me know.

Wait till you hit the hills with that diesel!! It's as if another engine kicks in!! The power is the most impressive feature of the entire coach. Been traveling GA, NC and SC so far and haven't had a single challenging hill...transmission hasn't dropped a gear yet on cruise. Can't wait for my first real mountain run this fall through Cherokee and Gatlinburg area.

Super C is all my husband talks about. He called Thor and they told him the same thing about the chassis. If he would just sell all of his tools, we could get one. I have to let him dream, we have the 2 bath floorplan on our message board. Lol

See what comes in 2020

The factory rep posted on YouTube that there will be a redesigned Super C shown at the RV Show Circuit starting in October (TMC Open House?).

See the comments here:

Maybe on the new Chevy/GM/Navistar partnership cab/chassis (?)

We are looking to pick up one as well - talked to Thor Yesterday and this is what I was told when I asked if there's any new info.

"Unfortunately the first few units are still in production so we have not finalized any other the information.

I would guess that by the end of the month the information will be on our website and on our social media sites."
