Thor 3 Trax question

We just bought a 2018 Freedom Elite 24FE. I’ve read that shouldn’t open it part way and that it’s ok to open it part way (like about 3-4 inches) I should have been better about losing that last 10 lbs so my belly could fit through the bathroom door with the slide retracted. Can anyone shed light on this?
Thanks

Without getting technical, as I understand it, it is an all or nothing proposition. Once you put the slide in motion you leave it in motion until it times out. They are not designed to be used halfway.

If the Schwintek slide is opened part way and the retracted you stand the chance of getting the motors out of sync. The slide should be fully extended, then continue to hold the button for 2 seconds and then fully retracted and continue to hold the button for two seconds.

There are rare times when you will have to...don't do it often. I made a repair to plumbing under sink and had to do this. If you have to, don't pull it back in...continue to slide out until full extension, holding button a few seconds after full extension...then run it back in holding button a few seconds after full retraction...pause and run it all the way back out...holding the button for a few seconds at full extension, then bring it back in continually, holding button a few seconds once its fully retracted. This will reset/reprogram the motors to the "home position". All this per the Thor technician when I was at factory for warranty work in 2019. The 3 Trax system seems to be a great design...I've had zero issues so far.
