Thor Delano Sewer Hose Storage Compartment
We have a 2020 Thor Delano 24TT that has a sewer hose storage compartment just large enough in diameter to receive a sewer hose body but too small to accept the larger diameter connectors unless one is removed. Our dealer has suggested removing one of the connectors. If this is done the hose will fit and the remaining end connector will shoulder up to the entrance end of the compartment when completely inserted. However, removing and installing one of the connectors, before and after each use, in order to store it, does not sound like a viable much less a sanitary solution. We have contacted Thor; however, they have not come back with an answer. Does anyone in the Thor Forums community know of a sewer hose that will fit this compartment without messy assembly/disassembly of the connectors? Thanks in advance Doc…

in our Freedom Elite, if you very carefully arrange the flanges on each end of the hose, a 15 foot hose will neatly fit right in the bumper. I initially tried to put two in one side and got the first one in really jammed, but a long 2x4 when I got home fixed that. Now I put one hose in each side and roll merrily along.

Pictures would help, but my money says you can find a sewer hose that fits. You could also provide the diameter of your storage compartment.
Our coach came with a sewer hose brand new stil packages but it just looked small. I bought a Camco model that was color coordinated with our sewer hose etc. The twist connectors on my camco are a lot larger than the sewer hose that came with the coach, although both will fit on fitting of the valve.
FWIW we have 2 15' Camco hoses and they lay nicely on the floor of our wet bay. We have extra fittings i.e. 45 degree etc.

sewer hose storage
Same problem with our new Chateau 24BL. They've decided an internal tunnel for the dump hose but none fit because of the connector on the end. Don't understand how to use it...

I just bought an expandable sewer hose holder and installed it under the coach behind the rear wheels. Problem solved. My hose and fittings fit nicely.

I'm a fan of a $80 macerator and a 3/4 inch garden hose.
So much easier.
No connection, no storage problem, no gravity.

I use a clear tote with a lid that holds all the black water hoses
We camp at several sites that require extensions also

👍There are a bunch of cheap ones out there. If you buy a “quick release” one and it breaks, you can just disconnect it and use your regular hose. I bought an expensive Flowjet and have been using it for three years in two RVs. the one before that lasted almost five years in two RVs before it quit. Best investment I made in my RVs.

Thor bulit in slot for sewer hose
The question remains: Thor must have a reason they built this sewer hose retainer? (That doesn't fit any sewer hoses...)

There you go... I am with you. As a Non Thor Owner I demand an answer, I need the info for next report back to Winnebago
I believe Thor has hose that will fit, or if OP will send a picture with diameter, I am 100% certain, that I have a brand new one that will fit. It came with the coach, but it was too little IMO.
My coach is at the Dealer getting ticky / tacky warranty repairs done before it hits the 1 year mark, but below is picture of my wet bay. I just lay compressed both 10' hoses in S shape pattern on the floor along with the adapters.

For good measures I have the matching Camco sewer hose in the same wet bay, https://www.ebay.com/p/9009752795?iid=392488266955 no way anyone ever gets it confused with main water hose. The main water hose is in separate bay.

Clarification
Here is a picture of the place Thor built to store the sewer hose in the Chateau 24BL. The connector on the end of hoses will not fit.

You didn't provide diameter, but it looks to be standard 3"
My money says the below hose & fitting may work.
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Road-Home-R...E&gclsrc=aw.ds
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Camco-39543....c100005.m1851
Note, you may even use your existing hose if you cut the connector off?

It is standard size, but the end connector does not fit in the compartment. The end connector from the sewer hose does not fit in the tube and the cover (RV door) will not close with the connector sticking out.
Which leaves the question why did Thor disign it this way so it can't be used with a standard sewer hose?

Somebody needs to take Thor's design team to a Camping World store. Make each of them buy a sewer hose, and then tell them to try and store it in the compartment that they provided

Seems odd that the designers would not account for the "stinky slinky" hose fittings.....but is anyone actually surprised?
I am with lwmcguire on this one.....use a plastic tote that fits your "flushing" requirements (picture of ours is attached). The DW found this plastic bin (about 3'x16"x6" - probably intended as some under bed storage bin) which holds our dump goodies, plus extension hose and extra fittings. It's easily carried; easily stored; easily cleaned and relatively hygenic overall. Takes up some space in a bin near the wet bay, but not a big deal for the old ACE. You definitely don't want to store the hose with an open end.

Normally, I would say, good idea gone bad, and put this under no good deed goes unpunished, but I am not sure it is good idea anyway?
Why would you want to put a wet sewer hose in that tube and close it up? I would think the open air is good for it in a bay compartment. Maybe when dry; you could slide it in, but why bother? But if OP insist, there is a way to put his/her existing hose in that tube, they will just need the Camco adaptors, but it works for the intended purpose.

Just clean it well, and cap both ends.
