Washer & Dryer

We just purchased a kw29 c and it has a washer and dryer. What are anyone’s thoughts good or bad, they really take up a lot of room

How much is convenience worth on longer trips? And how adverse are you to laundry mats?

I am probably one trip out from removing ours and turning the cabinet into a hanging closet. When it takes 2 to 3 hours to complete one load of light weight clothes, no thanks. We can do four or five loads in less time at a campground laundry room.

We have a KW29 and we love the full size stackable washer dryer. I enjoy having clean sheet and towels without spending time and money at the laundromats.
It is also convenient when we arrive home after a trip, having everything cleaned and packed away.

I have a stackable washer and dryer in the current coach that we were planning to remove. We take trips of 1-4 months and find the convenience to be worth keeping them. We got tired of going to laundromats where "courteous" pet owners has washed pet blankets and such. Plus we don't need to pack so many clothes anymore and don't need as much space. We probably do 3 loads a week between the 2 of us. I'm surprised how much we can put in a load and pleased we have them.

Washer and dryers seem like a dishwasher. If you use it you love it: if you don’t it’s a waste of space. Just put a dishwasher in our 30fe last year and we love it for the time savings and water savings. That being said I don’t mind walking down to the laundromat at the park to wash clothes. Seems like a nice break. Having little kids though it would be nice to just throw in a load a day while we were out doing things and always having clean clothes.

We Full Time and Replaced the 19 year old "Combo" with the latest "Stacked Splendide's"

I've Had enough of coin operated Laundrymats.. and not knowing whether or not that the previous user washed bedbug infested sheets or greasy coveralls or flea & tick infested pet bedding..

And So What if it takes an additional hour to do a load in the Coach.....We have all day..

Agree, we had a dishwasher in the previous DP and didn't like it. Small inefficient and we could hand wash dishes quicker and better. It also didn't drain well because it was in a slide and the routing of the drain so it stunk. We had laundry hookups but never put them in that coach.

That what was nice about adding the dishwasher myself. I got to chose what I wanted and how to run the hoses. Doesn’t wash much but I can get a meals worth of dishes which is great. With a washer and dryer I feel it’s the same.

The washer and dryer plus the generator are staying in place.

One of the main reasons we purchased this unit was for the washer and dryer. Very Handy when traveling on long trips.

There are many horror stories about the inefficiencies of RV washers and dryers. Deservedly so. The combo and non vented ones. Mine are stackable, dryer is vented and does a remarkably good job. Spin cycle also gives a nice light massaging vibration.

As you can see...this subject depends on whether you already have one or not. If you camp with FHU's most of the time, water is not an issue. My previous 35SF had connections but they were in the full wall slide and I didn't want to add that extra weight. I would have added them otherwise just for the convenience of another gadget. That huge floor to ceiling storage space was awesome for other big thing and extra stocks. I'm not a fan of public laundry facilities. People wash weird things in the middle of the night. We just carried enough clothes for whatever trip we were making. Heading out west soon in the much smaller Sprinter so we'll use cleaner services for clothes washing. Seperate units are the only way I would go. The combi-units are way to limited in capacity, take forever to wash and dry a small load and use tons of water. I never caught on to the concept of using water to dry clothes.

Ours work very well and have been extremely convenient.

Doing wash now. Our current trip is only 8 days but it's nice to come home with clean clothes. Stackable is the only way to go

I agree Jerry. When we bought our new MH they were already in. The dealer would not take them out. So we thought we would never use them. Boy we were wrong. Now we pack about half of what we used to and just do a load or two of laundry. We love having them.

I agree the dryer would be great for swim suits and towels but w3 go 2 or 3 days at a time I think the storage would be worth more

Here's what we do for towels:

https://www.amazon.com/Homeleader-St...dp/B0BFW8663Q/

We have one in the house master bath as well.

Beach towels and swim suits get the outside hanging treatment - on the ladder or awning.

We have swimming dogs, grandkids, and I ride bikes most days. We take minimal amount of cloths. So we use ours a lot. We have plenty of storage and we use them very often. Whirlpool stackable
