What is this?

I just purchased a used 2005 28 ft Thor Chateau Sport class C and after pouring through all the supplied manuals I have no clue what this switch controls. It is located to the left of the indoor Gen Start Switch and simply shows On and Off. Anyone know what it is? Here's a photo:

Will, it says Atwood on it: it's not for the furnace or fridge so maybe the water heater? Either gas or electric element.

The switch says Atwood so I believe it is the switch for your hot water heater. If there are two switches there(hard to tell from the photo) one would be for electric heating of the water and the other would be for gas heating of the water in the water heater.

Humm. There's just one lonesome rocker next to the gen hour meter. I pressed it and a red indicator lights a distant sound then it turns off. I think the water heater switch is on the stove hood switch panel.

If the igniter is unable to light the gas burner in the hot water heater it will shut off after a short attempt. Beware.. if the hot water heater is empty you do not want to be testing this switch. It's best to try this with the hot water heater full of water, the propane turned on, and the exhaust outlet clear of wasp or other pest nests!

That sounds like the most reasonable explaination. I'll read up on the water heater manual and maybe shed some light on this. Thanks for everyone that replied!

switches

Everything I have learned about my wind sport was from this forum. The walkthrough when I purchased it was a joke. The dealer should have shown what every switch and button does. My bad for not knowing. The next purchase will be SOOO different. I do agree about the Atwood. just sayin...

Maybe see what the wire colors are. Careful if you do not turn the power off.

Mystery solved and thanks to everyone who responded. Your comments are appreciated. It was/is indeed the water heater. I have a propane only model per the model number so if there's no water in it shuts down. I filled the fresh water tank an viola! Started right up and I get hot water. Kinda wish they had labeled the switch but hey that's what the LabelMaker is for.

Hi, I've got a 1999 28a I bought used. Took me awhile to figure this out too!
The switch by the side door, you know what that is for?

I wouldn't trust Thor to use the right color wires

Your rig might be different but on my 2005 there are three switches

Step switch
porch light
Battery disconnect

Probably gonna be one of those.
