wireless backup system

I have searched for current information on this topic and am struggling to get the answers to my questions. Please help!


I have a 2017 Thor Four Winds 24 ft class C. It has an Axxera stereo with a backup camera and the side view cameras. I am new to driving an RV and am headed out on a month long 5k mile trek with just me and four kids. My husband is comfortable behind the wheel. I am less confident. I rely heavily on the cameras, but most of the time the quality is so bad I can't see anything at all.


I'm looking for some inexpensive options for a better system. The quality on the monitor is obviously terrible, but I don't know if the cameras also need to be replaced.


I have seen that some people replace the stereo with a Pioneer or a Kenwood. From what I can tell they are quite expensive. At the moment I am not looking for a super expensive upgrade with all the bells and whistles although of course that would be nice.


Is it possible to get a decent wired stereo at a lower price point that would allow me to use my current cameras and all the features such as having the backup camera on while driving down the road? And how complicated is the installation?


Or for now could I just get a wireless system from Amazon? Would I still be able to use my existing cameras?


Specific models and an idea about how complicated installation is would be greatly appreciated.
