XG32 Generator breaker blows

My “new to me” Magnatude XG32 pops the generator breaker if started when connected to shore power. The original owner said that was normal, but I have owned several coaches of other makes and never experienced this. Isn’t that what a transfer switch is for? Is this, in fact, correct???

No, not correct. The ATS should "break" the SP connection before "Making" the generator connection. Check the ATS wiring and function.
