XG32 Improvements

These are 3 improvements I have made so far. Second one cost me nothing. Type of improvement I like. Obviously the recliners cost the most and the Crossfire has come collateral expenditures. 3/4" torque wrench and some extensions.

If you're curious what the faucet is. Thor in their "wisdom" put the water control knob over the counter guaranteeing a wet counter when washing hands. Firm grip and twisted it. I think I should maybe have waited to order the Crossfire when I was firm on my rear tire PSI. I'll run 105 which makes the readings in the unit valid to see. Recliners are RecPro powered recliners in fabric, not the fake leather-look stuff.

Yes it needs washing.

I was afraid the base of it was in a keyway or flatted hole but it's round peg in round hole. Underneath you can see the screws friction clamp but I didn't need to loosen it. I thought maybe mine was just screwed up not put together right. Checked several online and all the same. In other words a deliberate Thor blunder.

I like the theater seating. The non-reclining seatbacks that come on the rig are not comfortable for me. Can you post a picture with them reclined? How much room is left between the recliner and the dinette when the slides are in?

I'll try to get a picture of them reclined within a couple days. Not reclined and slides in 12-18" pathway. When I get the pics I'll measure also. Traveling a passenger sitting there could recline and extend footrest some.

Thanks. That's good enough for me. I wanted to be sure there was enough room to still walk past when the slides are in. The install says 3" from the wall, some reviews say you need 4". Do you know what distance you installed them?

I agree the non-reclining seating that comes standard is very uncomfortable. The seats are made by Williamsburg furniture and are called Incliner. I have no idea what a Incliner seat is but I guess it means the back does not recline.

So far my XG32 improvements are
* Central Vacuum
* Electronic water drain valve like Judge but wired mine to the upfitter switch
* TST 507 TPMS with internal tire sensor
* 95 PSI crossfire
Next up
* New theater seating
* Maxxfan in front vent

I put the back of the headrest about 3" from the wall and during the recline the headrest gently brushes on the wall. With slides out and fully reclined there is room to get by between the footrest and booth. Course not a lot of places to go up front. As such there is some room behind the recliners to store some stuff. Figure I can get a couple 12 packs and rolls of towels back there.

Perfect. Thank you. I was thinking the same thing for storage. Plus I'm not doing the cup holder in the middle. This gives me 12" of room to the sides of the seats. I can make storage by the cab and by the entry, obviously with cup holders built into the top of each storage unit. You can buy yards of material from Recpro too, I'm not sure if I'll get that fancy or just go reclaimed wood.

I like the idea of writing the electric valve to one of the upper switches, although I only have #5 & #6 not used.
The front vent had no power in the roof. I put a new maxxair there and I spliced into the power for the Winegard. Ran it a few inches on top of the roof and covered with roof tape.
On the TPMS, mount the screen ASAP so the passenger doesn't get up and accidentally step on the screen!! I just ordered a mounting plate that attaches on top of the dash, in the recess. Phone, toms screen, gps unit and when of road the walkie talkie will all be mounted up there.

For now my TPMS monitor is mounted by the suction cup right under the brake controller. I have been looking at the mounts that go on the top of the dash in the recessed cubby.

What do you have your upfitter switches wired to? I have switch 1 wired to the TPMS repeater and switch 2 wired to the water drain valve. Plan to use switch 6 to power the video receivers for my trainer side view cameras like I did on my F350

Switches 1-4 are used for LED light bars. Switch 1-6" bar facing front left, switch 2 - 22" bar straight ahead, switch 3 - 6" bar facing front right. I did them separately so I wouldn't be blinding everyone when I'm looking for a camp spot. Switch 4 - rear Bars mounted above the rear window and just below the rear camera, two 3" one facing left and one facing right, and two 6" facing straight back. Too often I'm pulling a trailer and need to back in. Now I can see everything!!

I went with wireless switches for my fresh water drain valve, fresh water tank fill from city water valve and TPMS Signal Amplifier.

I used the Uplifter Switches to power my RV GPS, TPMS Display and Dash Cam.

chunker21,
My crossfire should arrive today. Have you noticed if yours is affecting the tire balance and causes a vibration. I have seen some videos where they try to mount it as close to center as possible.
Any suggestions on getting the hose on the inside tire?

Haven't driven with it on yet but mounted it similar to how judge did. Set vale stems 180 out and bolted to lug nut between them. I am considering centramatic as I had it on my DP front and rear. Very satisfied with it but I'll take a wait and see/feel approach. In a few days I'm going to go out for a test drive and fuel up for the upcoming trip and I'll comment if I notice any vibrations.

Really like the improvements Chunker. Especially the recliner. Don't understand the 105 on the Crossfire though. I've been thinking about getting the Crossfire, but my understanding is that you need to get the one that matches your cold tire pressure rating. For the XG32 that's 110. Please enlighten.

The 110 psi is for the maximum load carrying capacity of the tire and not the actual weight carried by the tire. I weighed my XG32 fully loaded and the drive axle weighted 13200 lbs. Base on the Continental Tire inflation guide the tires should be inflated to 95 psi to carry 13,660. I have installed the 95 psi crossfire.

I originally was running 110 in the rear and ordered the crossfire. I weighed, got the Contential tire loading psi chart and determined I could run 95 BUT I already installed the crossfire so can't return it. I decided to run 105 which is more than I was with 95 so I'll carry more water. The 105 figure means the crossfire 110 pieces will show a valid reading and the tires at that pressure are not badly overinflated, just a bit. I drove it around 1000 miles at 110psi, about 900 at 95psi and the upcoming trip I'll be at 105. If I don't like that pressure I'll get the 100 or 90 valves and replace them. Basically I did that to cheap out and not have to replace the crossfire valves. Not the best reasoning.

I had the understanding that even though I got the 95 psi I could still run 100 psi or 105 psi and the crossfire would still work. Just the indicator on the crossfire would not be accurate. Since I run the TST TPMS I am not worried about an incorrect reading on the crossfire as long as it keeps the tire pressure equal
