2021 Thor Tellaro KT - Winter Operation

Hello - I am planning on using my Tellaro KT during the winter months and will be in some freezing conditions periodically. Not super cold but maybe in the teens. Just got our Tellaro in May of this year thus this is our first winter. I don’t really want to winterize and un-winterize every other week or so. I called Thor and they were zero help. I’m curious if anybody out there has any advice or tips on how they have dealt with winter operation? Thanks

I Have the same concern. Picked up a new Thor Tellaro 2022 and live in Chicago. I have the water pump turned off, tank heaters on and running the propane heater to 50° (9 degrees in chicago at nite). Don’t want to damage the new Tellaro,Worried about things freezing or unintended damage. Not getting much help from Sara or from our dealer. Help!

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one, I was beginning to wonder. Where I am I only have to deal with low 20’s and upper teens thus not so severe. I ended up having a 30 amp RV outlet added to the side of my house so I could safely run an oil type radiant space heater. With that running and my propane heat set at 48 I’m able to keep the lower compartment (where the water pump is) at about 40. The space heater helps keep the propane from running down quickly. I also removed the fire extinguisher holder so the fresh water tank gets better air flow. The space heater air then gets in there nicely, as the fresh water tank does not have a tank heater. I also open the hatch to the water pump area to get better air flow in there. I really wish Thor would have just run some simple electric heat elements (like heat tape) along all the water lines in the walls and underneath. Would have then just been as simple as turning on the black and grey water tank heaters. The only thing I have not dealt with are the low point drain valves. I figure the have water in them and are probably getting next to no heat but so far they have not burst.

Pretty easy.
A 2 out of 5 ability type job.
I'd wire into my tank heaters if I could.
