Bidet success!! 2022 Tellaro/Sequence 20L (or any w/ rear bath or non-cassette)

We have two Toto Washlets at home, and each time we camp, we can't wait to get home for those!!

So I decided to take a chance and try using a toilet with bolt-on seat and thin bidet washer device. OEM toilet has a pivot seat and would not work- it has to be a bolt-on seat to accept the Bidet. The one I used had the most room at the back, which was needed for no-mod install of the bidet.

I watched another video where they had to cut up the bidet to fit-
This one went right on w/o issues.

I had to add a #12 x 1-1/4" screw to the floor flange at the rear- to stabilise the toilet. The deck is 3/4" plywood (surprised!) so it is ok, and already had an internal vertical brace up front in and underneath front of the deck box.

I used this Thetford "Residence" toilet:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DPIVZR6...roduct_details

And This Bidet device, called a "Rinslet" by Brondell:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BS1TPSY1...t_details&th=1

And an assortment of fittings. All Pex crimp and swivel fittings.

I'll make up a pdf for the 20L Tellaro/Sequence retrofit after I add a mixing valve to H&C pipes behind the wall for the Rinslet so I am not washing with cold water- also adding a shutoff for the toilet, and relocating the Rinslet fitting nearby.

Note grommet plug for old toilet feed location, and grommet for wall penetration for new feed. Nice and snug- should be water resistant enough.

I used my mixed outdoor faucet on 'warm' for the test, and all went well. Variable pressure at the control, and self clean worked well.
I am NOT going into detail, but suffice to say that the aim is perfect when seated... :-)

Toilet is much nicer too- slightly longer bowl and soft-close seat are a plus!

We might stay out longer now... :-) Pdf coming soon after I get the new components.

I never got into doing videos- having a pdf is better so you can print it out and have nearby. Coming soon (maybe a week)

How much more water does it use? I suspect you don’t dry camp much.

About 8 oz. per wash I estimate- We always carry water in the tank. We bag our poo as well.

Power is available on a 24.1 from the outlet on the outside of the bathroom wall.

Con:
You can't sit on the lid.

Heated and easy.
We used to give these as Christmas presents.

You'd need a ceramic toilet for that one- same fit as our home Toto units, which are electric.

Correct about lid sitting, but I can sit on my Thetford, but much harder to pass poo thru that too... :-)

Add this.
It is a joy.
We have those bidet on every house toilet. When people come to the house for the first time they ask about the heated seat. We tell them the seat isn't heated that they must have hotseated someone just before them. The 'ewww' is priceless.

The rv cold seat is always a huge, shrinkage event, type shock so I added heat.

This heater is in our rv, the bidet is not. I've just been too lazy to see if one would fit our ceramic rv toilet.

Interesting!! We actually only heat the seat in the winter for the Toto units- and RV toilet seat is not very cold at that. I had no idea that existed, but not surprised...

People get weird when I show how to use the Toto Washlets. (Not like I physically demonstrate!)
They have funny looks when I explain what buttons to push- 'front or rear wash', dryer, seat heat, and my favorite for dingleberries- "Oscillate"!!! I'll miss that one.
Knocks those little buggers right off.

You guys are definitely in a higher social class than me. I can remember when both grandparents installed indoor bathrooms. Can remember using the outhouse at both their houses. The Nodine's were rich because they had a three hole outhouse. My mother's parents only had a two hole unit. Both were well equipped with the Sear's Catalogue. I also remember the potty under the bed that provided the convenience of not having to go outside to the outhouse at night. My grandparents would get upset with my cousins and me because we would pee thru the upstairs window screens at night. It would rust the screens.

I expect management will soon close this thread!
