Boondocking in a 2017 TB

I’m a new owner of a Gemini TB. I’m interested in doing some boondocking. Assuming my batteries are fully charged, my tanks are full, and I’m conservative with water and power how long can I expect to be able to dry camp? I’m guessing 2-3 days, but don’t really know. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The answer depends on your battery capacity and how much power you use.

For example with a very simple T/T and an absorption fridge, I could go 2-3 days until I discharged my batteries below 50% the maximum you should discharge lead acid batteries for best life.

Others with a compressor fridge, use of a CPAP on an inverter overnight, furnace use, etc even with two Group 24 batteries won't last a day.

So post your battery configuration and something about your DC usage requirement.

Hi David, I appreciate your reply. I haven’t a clue what my battery configuration is and what kind of refrigerator I have. Not even sure how to check. Told you I was new. [emoji3] How do I check those?

Don't know your coach specifically but often the coach batteries are underneath the entry steps. There will be one or two and the Group number is often on the label, but most likely Group 24 or 27.

The Thor brochure says it is a three way propane fridge. So that is good as it uses little DC power while on propane.

Do you use the furnace, have a CPAP machine or use any other power consuming appliance such as extensive TV usage.

Tell me the number of batteries and any large power consumers and I can make an educated guess.

The tech that gave you the post delivery inspection (PDI) should have the answers to all your questions. He (she) knows the coach better than most of us. All the items you ask are person dependent.

Are you serious?..
My last 2 5th wheels I explained to that person how the majority of the appliances worked, they had no clue.
I will say that I know nothing particular about this coach or where to find the batteries, but if there in person I could definitely help out as much or more than most at a dealership.

A v10 uses point six seven gallons an hour at idle.
Your generator uses close to the same less and more depending on load.

A couple of cases of bottled water, two $100 batteries in addition to what you have, a set of jumper cables to hook up those two extra batteries while you're camped {cold nights and the heater drain just two batteries pretty low) and your only regard will be fuel in the gas tank and when your black tank fills and your propane runs low. An extra propane tank is $28ish.

As long as you can run your generator to keep the batteries charged-up: your stay is only limited by:
The amount of fuel you have on board.
The amount of propane you have on board.
The amount of water that you have on board

Of course: you can haul this stuff back to the RV if you need...
