Fantastic mod!

This is an awesome modification. Thanks for sharing BobBoots. We have a Harmony coil topper on the current queen short folding mattress which would transition to your trifold queen short for a bit more padding. There are several Harmony models now.

Not sad to see folding bed go....

It sounds like you could be on the same track to eliminate running into the legs from the folding bed. We also added two wire "linen closet" shelves which have close wire spacing, and removed the hanging racks that interfere with the sliding mirrored closet doors.
Home Depot Wire Shelving

One other upgrade was adding a 1200W inverter with an outlet under the drawer-chest beneath the foot of the bed. That is wired up to the bedroom TV as well so it will work when on and off the grid.

Under bed storage

We already raised the underbed storage to equal (and eliminate) the bench cushion. That allowed us to take 2 full bags of golf clubs. See photo. We re-use the exact bench top as the top to the new taller underbed storage. (We will post in “Modifications “ when it’s finished) I’m going to see what it would take to make the original cushion do what your extra cushion is doing.

Great ideas in play!

Golf Bag Storage

Wow....you have really optimized the space in that "footlocker". How easy is it to remove the cover for that foot-drawer-cabinet?

I also added sound-deadening material from B-Quiet to cover both wheel-wells, and added this to the cab area floor and doors as well. It makes a difference for road noise, but not so much for wind noise when driving in heavy cross-winds.

How did you secure the Wire Shelving and where did you locate the Inverter and Transfer switch?

Anyone have photos of whats behind the linen closet?

Shelving Mounts / Inverter

The shelving mounts were from Home depot....also at Amazon: The back wall is at least 1" thick and is hollow between the inside panel and the rear outside panel.

The inverter is under the bed over the driver-side rear wheel well. To put it here, I had to run 1" flexible tubing from the coach battery up thru the floor using a right-angle connector. This right-angle connector needs to be fastened in a space with only a 4" clearance under the flloor, so I needed to purchase a right-angle adapter with a flex extension for my screwgun. I used @2 AWG red and black wires and high-strand-count marine wire is best for this as it is flexible and the strands are tinned to prevent corrosion. A 100A circuit breaker is also required at the battery. The inverter is this one from Amazon and it has a on/off remote panel that I mounted under the right-hand drawer next to a new inverter-outlet I installed.

Remove folding bed

I'm not entirely sure how you got the headboard off to be able to remove this completely.

It seems to be attached behind the headboard ⁉️

HALP!!!

We removed and junked the bed frame. Cut up mattress. Reinstalled mattress. We can now sleep while slide in or use it as a bench. We will continue to modify it to suit our needs. 5’ and 6’ tall, we can both lay down comfortably, just not on a queen anymore.
