I have not seen one especially for Gemini/Compass but there is a Thor RV get together planned in Florida I have read. At one time we were planning a get together for G/C in Oregon but it never worked out.

What ever you do get the Transit chassis the handling is much improved over the Sprinter since it has a low slung chassis design and wider track.

Weíre about to take the plunge

We are picking up our Gemini 24TF in a week and a half. Iíve learned a lot by reading these posts and am looking forward to learning much more from all of you. We may need lots of advice! First off, we need advice on insurance companies. Do we go with a RV insurance company or use our auto insurance company (Geico)? Is Good Sam the best emergency road service group?

TIA for recommendations.

For the insurance side of things I use my standard car insurance company but we are in Canada so rules for you may be different. I have CAA but have used AAA when I needed assistance in the states and found them very good. There is a RV coverage up here but it costs more

I use my auto through AAA for my motor home. I increased my roadside assistance to include the rv for towing in the event I need it towed to a shop.

Iíve used the same insurance company for nearly 50 years but their RV coverage was expensive and not very complete. I get my coverage through Good Sam and I ask them to requote each year. For a while they had me through Progressive but the last few years it has been through National General. There are some impressive RV specific features including full replacement coverage for less money than my car insurance company coverage. Talk to both options and decide whatís best for you.

I used Geico as they were very reasonable.
As for roadside assistance, I had Good Sam and found them to use some really shady individuals which made me nervous on the side of the road. I switched to AAA, a much more reputable company.

When I went to our Auto Insurance carrier for our motor home he told me right up front that they were not the best for RV's. I went with National General after getting five other quotes and so far haven't had a claim so can't recommend them or disqualify them. I carry road service through National General also but still have a Good Sam policy. Again, no claims so no recommendations. Since I keep the RV at home and actually use it at times for a second vehicle I don't take advantage of the storage discounts. You may want to look into that also.

Good luck with the new rig.

Ok gemi heads,
Been reading forum since 2017, great source of information. So hear we go. I live in central Illinois, winter's can and do get brutal. 1st year I had 2017 gemini, I kept it in drive way, winterized for winter. Periodically starting up and checking systems. 2 ND year built a pavilion. I winterized and started periodically. This year had 30 amp outlet installed , winterized and keep shore power on.(kept propane off during all winter's except to test generator) last week while in yard heard what I thought was furnace trying to turn on. It was on demand water heater. Tried to turn off , just showed error 01. Probably no propane. I would press on/off several times, just got beeping sound. Screen stayed on continually. I googled Girard power and user control panel. I interpreted it to say, remove fuse during long storage periods. Unit is now dead until I put fuse in. Anybody else come across this situation? Am I doing this correctly? All comment s welcome.

The on demand wh in the Gemini has an freeze prevention cycle that is automatically activated at somewhere around 40 degrees. It cycles even if the propane is off. I turn mine off with the switch inside the wh compartment.

Thats what I do. I usually forget but remember when I walk past the RV in the drive and hear the fan running.

Sorry just can't get the iCloud to work with my phone today.

Open the outside door to the WH and you will see a switch just above the fuse. I assume this is the fuse you removed. I'll send the pic if this thing ever cooperates.

Mountainsam,

Just a quick note to you and everyone else for your support and guidance this year. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I am hoping that there will be some type of gathering of the Gemini/Compass clan this year while I can still move about.

Cheers

Gemi and compass owners,
I also would like to meet other owners. ( All Thor owners) We are planning to retire the end of July. Exactly how does one go about planning an event. I guess the first thing would be to ask if anybody is interested, and what part of the U.S or Canada would it be located? So.....?

I would be interested I am in Canada and travel to the US often and have found that RV travel either before June 30th and after Labor Day is best for getting campsites as the kids are either still in school or back to it.

Same issue with 750 miles! Dealers says they will change the oil for free. We will about that!
