I believe they are still using TPO for pretty much most of Thor's line. TPO stands up fairly well, and yes you can carefully walk on it, but there will be some flexing, so be very careful around any of the many joints and seams, as the sealing material could pull away if flexed too much. Just check all the calking along the seams and edges of equipment on the roof every six to eight months.

Use a piece of plywood (24" x 24") or larger, to stand on when on the roof. It will reduce the flexing and distribute your weight better. Less damage.

My dealer put in an inverter for me. Used a 1500w Modified Motomaster Elimator.

He wired the bedroom TV , outdoor Sound bar ( I think he meant it to be the outdoor TV and missed) , the DVD and SAT plugs and the plug under the dinette.
Works. The problem is, the inverter has to be on for those (above) to work. Even on shore power.

Guess there's no pass Tru power or ???

Annoying

Pros/Cons?

Thanks,

The inverter draws off your battery bank and should have a switch when you go to shore power so IMHO I would go back to the dealer and ask them how it was wired to the batteries.

Or even better, put an automatic transfer switch on the inverter. Costs about $50 and is an easy install. There are several but I like this one as being easiest to install:

I am not sure but I do know its longer than 25. You may consider getting an extension, you may only use it a few times but well worth it to have in those unusual times you need one. BTW they are not cheap.
Good Luck and have been in Arkansas a few times touring and really liked the KOA in Little Rock.

Could you verify the Ford part number for fit?

HK3Z-16F099-A on
https://www.oemfordpartsfast.com/oem...rs-hk3z16f099a, says they dont fit on a 2019 Ford Transit 350HD.

Wanted to verify before I order.

Cheers!

Hello all,
Question for those of you that have carport I have a 2020 compass tw.

I only have room for a 10'w x 11' h x 26'l carport leaving about 15" on each side of the coach.

Think I will regret it?

Cheers!

Parking your rig

That cover will work but depending on the side walls being open or semi closed will make the difference. Please look at the shed (boat house) I built. Originally I parked a Thor Majestic but now Compass. Inside it is 11'5" wide between studs and its enough to walk around and check stuff but tight for anything else.

Building the shed

Thanks Coveman2. I do not have any drawings to share. It just had a good idea of what I needed and built it. It is simply 2x4 stick frame with let in 1x4 bracing sheathed in old salvaged metal roofing. I sheathed the end walls in OSB just for improved sheer strength. I did have the trusses built ($825 for 14) and I bought the metal roofing new. It is completely sealed off to rodents and vermin. I had to come up with a plan for the doors so the upper part is hinged on the top and opens with a small hand winch mounted to the side wall. I built a small boom and mounted it to the top header with a single pulley and used 1/8 inch stainless aircraft cable. The lower doors simply swing on heavy strap hinges. Other than the doors it is completely maintenance free. If I had to do it over I would go just 6 inches taller but at the time I was afraid getting too tall would become an engineering problem. My 2019 Compass TX clears the height by a few inches.

Thanks for the photos, nice looking building.

Electrical question, manual says when connected to shore and master battery switch on, both house and chassis batteries are charged.

Can someone verify this on a 2020 Compass TW?

I purchased a battery tender for the chassis battery and was going to mount it inside and connect it to the 120v outlet behind drivers seat when connected to shore power.

If charging happens when connected to shore power I will just install the tender pigtail in the engine compartment.

Cheers!

I called Thor and they told me that the coach batteries are charging when hooked to shore power with the USE/STORE switch on USE but the chassis batteries are not charging
when hooked to shore power. In the winter I hookup a smart charger to the chassis batteries and run shore power for a couple of days a month to the coach batteries, just to keep them fully charged. I also check the water levels every other month but have not had to add any water in the last two years and the batteries are staying at full power
