Mice, continued

Well, I am 99.999999% sure I have the chassis sealed, but I got 3 mice lately using the Tomcat traps, seen below- Telltale was a piece from under dash with a nice hole chewed in it.

So tonite (or soon...) I plan to place a light in the engine bay and inspect inside firewall, and then place lamp inside behind firewall and look under the bonnet for a hole!! News at 11...

It's the only place left to check. They chewed a rubber mat in the TV cabinet where I have a second trap, but they did not go in the trap...
They climb inside the walls to the cabinet floor and taunt me all night long.

These guys drive me nuts. Can you tell???
Arrgghh!
I've used these traps before and I love that they can be re-used. Just 'reset', shake out the offender, and put back on passenger floor.
They were just eating the PB out of the snap traps w/o getting caught!!!
I just don't want them chewing on wires!!!

My mice and chipmunks and squirrels will not eat peanut butter.
Show zero interest.
I bought pine nuts because all of our pines produce nuts(the size of the ones you buy in tthe store)...nothing.

Steak
Jelly
Bread
Nothing.

But
They come to see who died when I do catch one.
I do better without bait.

I hate killing them but a fox or skunks eat them before many hours pass...so I've decided I'm an accelerator not a killer.

I use the op's traps but it takes months to catch one of the little turds.
They work great when I can someone to go inside.

The electric traps did nothing except collect spiders.

They won't get on a sticky trap.

There is almost always a chipmunk inside the polaris.
They don't seem to do damage.

I don't worry at home about rodents.
I'm worried about picking them up in a field when in a harvest Hosts spot.

Traps only get them after they have chewed their way into your coach. You have to block them from getting to your coach. They hate the smell of predator urine.

Get a generator, that big green monster and smell will have your mice running for the hills

I am sorry man, I just could not resist. With that said if you are Nature lover or worry about about your neighbors dog or cat coming into your yard eating then don't read any further.

If you are reading this, there is another Green solution without investing in a generator.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Ramik-Gr...-MrSOD7B7ELULY

This stuff is the equivalent of Amdro. They will hoarde it and take it back to their nest, especially this time of the year. You will clear out the entire nest of unwanted rats or mice.

DON"T PUT IN THE RV or too close to the RV

Put it outside and they will find it. Track were you put so you will know they are taking the bait, and keep replacing until they are no longer taking it. It means they are all gone and all of that bait is stored where the main next was.

I sprinkle about twice a year just to see if there is any activity. Like Kicking Fire Ant Butt, Kick Rat / Mouse Butt or keep playing with them like they do in New York

Totally true, but I hate using the predator urine with my sense of smell- super sensitive. I will spend more time finding the hole(s)

No clavicles. How did they speciate to not have those?

A few years ago I had a pickup that mice were getting into but I could not find where they were getting in. I purchased an ultra violet light (probably from Amazon) and when it is dark you can follow their urine trail with the light. It’s gross but mice leave a urine trail everywhere they go and other mice follow it. Turned out my truck was missing a piece of foam insulation from the factory and they had access to the cab. Ford gave me the missing piece and no more problems.

Good one- I never knew that. I do know they pee and poop as they go- no control over it. The poop is easy to follow, but now I'll try the UV light trick! I've just used a regular light to find holes.

Back home and no mice in the traps yet...

Thanks!

Electronic solution

Met a couple at a CG that had 10k of damage to wiring. Then bought this and deployed 2 in the engine compartment and one behind each wheel and no more mice.

Same here. After several rodent incidents I added Rid-a-Rat strobes (local AZ invention I believe) and eventually added the Loraffes. They are a combination strobe and ultrasonic, available on Amazon. Underhood area is lit up like a blinking Christmas tree! Neighbors occasionally ask about the light show coming from under the RV.
