Navigation/ maps

My promaster is a 2022 with 10.1Ē Uconnect 5. I bought 1 month ago. Always had a map showing on the navigation screen. Today itís just black. No navigation. No map. Is this a paid feature or should the map always be showing?

Should not be a paid feature as my navigation has never disappeared since new and do not have a paid subscription. If you have to reset the radio would think you should be able to do that by removing the negative lead from the chassis battery (located in the panel below the driver's seat) to see if it resets.

Held power button down for 20 sec. Tom/Tom map update popped up. Map is back. Itís a completely different looking map than I had before but itís back. Must have needed an update?

My Uconnect system did an update within last couple of weeks so could be what was going on. I get a message on the screen that tells me not to drive the vehicle but leave it powered on while doing an update.

I might add that Ram did a good job of adding a "quick disconnect" to the negative side of the chassis battery if you should ever have to remove power from there.

That might have been the issue. Something popped up on screen at the same time I put in reverse to take it for a spin. I didnít see what the screen said before I put in gear. Maybe I cut an upgrade short and needed to reset.

Good to know about the disco...

I think some of the features of the map are a subscription...traffic, PIO ahead - of course the cool stuff I liked.

I got an email either 90 or 180 days after purchase to subscribe.

I really like the in dash nav, even though I mainly use my android via android auto. I might consider paying for it, I thought it was that good.
