Propane loss

I have a 2021 Thor Tellaro, the 15 Amp fuse labled ‘appliances’ continues to blow every time I use my RV. I have to replace it every night so we can shower. It doesn’t go out when parked. Any ideas??? It’s under warranty, but three months out for repairs. Hoping it’s something simple. Thanks, Steve

The 12 volt Appliances circuits on my coach are for: the RV fridge circuit board, both radios, the bathroom, and ceiling fans.

If I were troubleshooting I'd start by finding which "appliances" lose power when the fuse blows. Likely one of those is the culprit.

Turn off or unplug/ disconnect all those appliances.

Replace the fuse. Then one by one reconnect each appliance, noting when the fuse blows.

Get the electrical diagrams for your coach from Thor and trace and troubleshoot the circuit for a short.

Likely not something simple. If it doesn't blow when parked then you have a vibration induced short - so it's intermittent - one of the hardest faults to identify. As mentioned, start with the Thor provided schematic/wiring diagrams (such as they are). You will likely have to do a lot of wire tracing. You will likely find a pinched wire or a wire with insulation pierced by a screw when you find the problem

Heck, throw a 50 AMP fuse in there and forget about it. In no way was that serious.

But I agree with Ace

A fuse or breaker is there to protect the wiring. Never increase a fuse current rating, because the wire is not rated for a higher current.

Let’s clarify. Use = unplugged from shore power using battery power and propane? Parked = Plugged into shore power? And what brand fridge?

Most propane/AC refrigerators “fire” differently with AC vs DC. I’ll bet if you take the outside corner off and look real hard you’ll find a pinched DC wire. Or 2 terminals touching.

No, Mr. Insurance adjuster...I was just cleaning the interior with starting fluid...lights went out and I used my BIC lighter so I could see how to wipe everything down...now let's talk about that Super C Ive had my eyes on for a while.

Guess the OP figured it out. Hasn’t replied back. I don’t use starting fluid. Straight gas!

I should have been more clear. The fuse is labeled appliances, but it controls the propane delivery to my stove, water heater and furnace.

Most coaches have a manual shutoff valve, but there electric ones connected to the propane detector. How yours works I don't have a clue.

Yep, we get that. That's why it won't be simple to troubleshoot, plus it's intermittent. And we certainly can't troubleshoot it over a forum.

Get the electrical diagrams and a multimeter and begin the long haul of troubleshooting this issue. You should keep a log of what you've done and checked. You may need long lengths of wire with fuse holders to supply temporary power to some appliances during this period.

Or hire someone else to do it and go without your RV for a few months.

Just an FYI, my fridge is not affected. It’s 12volt only. By ‘use’ I mean drive the van. When I park, plugged in or not, I have to replace the fuse. Everything works until I drive it again, then the fuse blows again. I was just hoping for a simple solution, guess I’ll just wait for warranty repairs. Thanks for trying, Steve

In my 2022 Sequence 20L there was a short under stove on 12 volt power to ignitor on stove. See photo. Was rubbing against microwave.Click image for larger version
