Recall 23e-030 Inadequate Force on Onan Generator Gas Clamp

I called Thor Customer Service about another matter concerning my Thor Rize but also discovered there is a new recall coming out on the Onan generator gas clamp that may have inadequate force to prevent a gas leak. Thor received the recall notice on May 15 so letters to owners are yet to be sent out.

Take care. Seems serious..

This fuel hose between the inline fuel filter and the Injection Pump Module
(IPM) may have inadequate clamp force, possibly resulting in a gasoline leak.

Received my notice in the mail yesterday. Rize goes into Dealership next week for after delivery fixes. This will be added to the list, with the awning issue.

Would be good for you to check with your dealer. What's happening with my getting the two recalls fixed - awning and Onan generator.

Awning - I contacted my dealer several weeks ago and they have ordered the awning part. Still haven't heard back from them.

Onan generator - Apparently only Cummins dealers can fix this recall issue. I'm in luck since there is a Cummins MidSouth in Mobile, AL. However, they could only order 3 of the required hose kits but only received 2 hose kits. Seems to be a shortage of these hose kits. The good news is I will get 1 of the 2 hose kits installed on June 5th on my Thor Rize.

I'd sure check to see if thats a twist to tighten a hose clamp before I'd bother with that recall.

We once had a recall for a rust spot on just one of the tailgate cables on our kr.

Cummins does your work have them check the entire generator. They gave us a 2 year warranty

Followup - Cummins Midsouth actually ran my generator after the Recall hose kit install. After five minutes of running, the generator shutdown. The problem was a faulty generator fuel pump. Ok, ordered and installed the next day. Again they ran the generator to test it. It started surging. After some detective work, they discovered a pinhole in a different generator hose that they replaced. DEFINITELY have them check and run your generator.

I got the recall too, but have a propane generator... so I am assuming it does not apply.

If you got the recall then it definitely does apply to your vehicle. The Oman generator runs off the vehicle gas tank. The propane tank fuels the counter top burners, hot water heater, furnace combo.
