Sanctuary bike rack

Hello, has anyone had the pleasure of removing the Thule bike rack off the rear door of their Sanctuary, only to have a door that is thrashed. I have a nice dent, chipped paint on the door edges & two deep scratches across the whole door, top & bottom. Pretty bummed. They thought it would be a good idea to install without any sort of rubber strip behind the metal racks.

I removed mine in order to install an Owl Vans B2 carrier. There was a little paint scuffing at the edges but nothing serious. Then again I happily push my new van through narrow trails overgrown with trees so I'm not as concerned with scuffs as most people.

Yeah mine is pretty bad. Definitely an eye sore. Those Owl Van racks are sweet. I went to their shop the other day. I'll be picking up the ladder/tire carrier in the next couple weeks. I'm trying to configure some sort of vertical snowboard rack for the carriers.
