Tellaro - Broke the center bed support

Learned the hard/painful way the center aluminum arms that make the 20L bed into a king; will not support a large human kneeling on them.

Didn't even get all my weight on the cushion before the brackets pulled out of the thin luan plywood box.

Again, who designs this stuff, they certainly don't test it. The brackets have 3 screws, no more than 3/8" of bite left after going through the braces, screwed into something less than a 1/4" thick.

All it will take is a strip of 3/4" plywood or harder material to either be mounted on the outside or inside of the passenger side compartment that goes down to the floor. Screw the brackets into that, and I'll be able to jump on these.

I worry about ours on the Sanctuary, they are flimsy . I plan on supporting them from the inside in some way with through Bolts & an aluminum backing plate , maybe with support legs . I don't want to do any reinforcement on the outside if I can help it .

Might look into making a removable support for under the supports , that can be stored when not in use .

Yep, needs more support.

The drivers side is almost as bad as the passenger side. Passenger side is just stupid flimsy.

I'm going to simply Gorilla glue a couple of 1"x3"x height of the box on the inside, then screw through from the outside with some beefy screws...that will get it done.

Done right, you won't even see this fix; it will look factory....wait, better than factory.

I like the additional support under the bars, it would nice if the support could do double duty when not supporting the bars.
