Thor Rize Kitchen Counter Gap

My new Thor Rize 2022 kitchen counter back edge behind the sink has a 1 3/4" gap 26" long, matches the indented wall area for the kitchen window. There are a lot of electrical components, wiring, etc., under this counter / sink area. It would likely be hard to keep water or food from dropping down this large gap from the counter. Has anyone fixed this gap or have ideas to fit the gap?

Warranty coverage to fix the countertop? Or warranty coverage for any damaged electrical components? Probably best to fix the gap and avoid future problems.

I think the gap may be by design. It is a Thor after all.

This is a possible counter extension. It's a section of vinyl plank flooring that closely matches the wall color. With the rubber backing on the bottom of the plank should help keep out water. I'm holding it in place on this photo and will tack it to the counter with tacking nails.

Add a pc of trim, that matches.

Good luck.

I siliconed a piece of plastic trim on there, all the way to the right. Also put a bead of silicon on the right side where it bumps up against the wardrobe.

Just an FYI for those sealing that gap completely - That was “designed” to allow the hot air from the fridge to escape. Without it, the fridge is prone to overheating/blowing fuses.

I have a backsplash on mine that is part of the counter or at least matches the counter. There is still a gap.
