2022 Thor Sequence and generator use

Hi,

Does anyone know why I’d be getting an error message when plugging a 2022 Thor Sequence into a portable generator? The error message is “Shore Power Fault. The power cord has been connected to a faulty power source. Power will not be restored until connected to a properly working source.”

On a lot of generators, you must tie the ground to neutral at the generator. Some make a plug that does just that.

Sorry, total newbie here. How do you tie the ground to neutral at the generator? We couldn’t plug directly into the generator with the RV power cord because it was a different plug on. So we did buy a converter that allows us to plug into the generator. Is that what you mean?

No, the adapter has nothing to do with it. This is all in the generator. The error is because it expects to see the neutral and ground bonded in the power source. There are "bonding" plugs that you can use to plug into the 15 amp outlet on the generator to accomplish this or you can follow your generator's instructions in its manual to bond the ground and neutral.

Thanks Ted and Melinda for your help! I will give this a try.
