Traveling with Pets

I知 the new owner of a Gemini 23TB. I plan on traveling with my dog. Occasionally I will have to leave him in the motorhome alone. I知 worried about the reliability of campground electricity if I need to leave the AC on in the summer. I read that the Gemini has an automatic transfer switch. Does that mean that if shore power goes out the generator kick in and continue to run the AC?

Thanks in advance for your help. I致e found this Forum incredibly helpful already.

The transfer switch would automatically switch to the source of power available to it but would not start the generator.

I travel with a cat and would not leave the motorhome sealed up and unattended for very long in hot weather. It can heat up pretty quickly in the sunshine.

you might want to consider buying a monitoring system for your pet.
We bought an Eyenimal HD pet camera.
If you've got Wi-fi access: it'll provide live monitoring of the inside of your RV!

BLINK, not Bing, cameras are battery powered, wholly wireless and display temperature and have two way.microphone/speaker.

Edited because I couldn't remember a brand name if it meant losing the lottery.

But apparently have no links to them as Google says they don't exist.
Is "Bing" (a search engine) a typo in your post?

Blink
Sorry.
https://www.amazon.com/Blink-Home-Se...6-060b9a884447

I think I paid 79 bucks on a black Friday deal last year.

Two cameras.
Since there are no wires, when they aren't watching the pets they can be aux back up cameras or door cameras or
Front and rear night cameras when you're parked.

Some velcro and they'll stick anywhere.

Blink shots on my phone from the garage. The top one is staring directly into sunlight and the bottom one is at night with the lights off. The red dot at 2 o'clock on the bottom pick is the infrared of another camera looking back at the bling cam.
The green and red dots on the first is the laser lights I have going most of the time.
The pictures will go full size and they'll display on echo show devices.(i just bought a 10.1 echo show for the rv)
I just took a quick picture of my screen as penance for calling them Bing.
The real pics are crystal clear.

We travel with our dog and I have done a couple things since we usually have Internet access via our Winegard ConnecT 2.

First, I purchased this temperature and humidity sensor. You can configure to alert when temps or humidity get too high or too low.

https://tempstick.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQi...kaAlumEALw_wcB

Second, like other I have two cameras installed inside the coach so I can see what's going on when we are out.

Finally, my coach has the FireFly system that can also use a Bluetooth app to control the A/C, etc. I purchased an old Android phone, installed the app and TeamViewer. This lets me use TeamViewer from my iPhone to connect to the Android phone so I can access the FireFly system if I need to..... including manually starting the generator if I had too.

I have an Automatic Generator start system built-in to the FireFly system. But what I don't like is if I select the A/C demand mode, it will start the generator even if I am on shore power. I certainly don't want the generator starting when on shore power but the thermostat calls for cooling.

The above steps have worked great for us.

Hey Bob....

I have two of these Amcrest cameras installed....

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They can pan and tilt and you can listen in and do two-way communication. You can even set alerts and it will send you pictures or watch stored video if you have an SD card installed in them.

So far they have worked out great and it was easy to find places to mount them to get the most coverage.

I opened the blink software today.
They have
Temperature data directly to your phone.
A high/low temperature alarm sent to phone or email
A parameter adjustment so it won't 'see' the pets on the floor but would send a text if it sees the door open or someone taller than your dog.
Cloud storage for a week(?)

And
I just now used it as a handheld camera to look inside of vent without having to climb on anything.
