We put over 7000 miles in our SV last year during the height of COVID. My business travel stopped on March 12 and my wife's dental office closed on March 14. On March 20th we hit the KOA in Wilmington, NC for 10 days.

From there we stopped in VA then headed home to reload. In mid-April we spent a week at the Travelers Rest KOA in SC (really nice little campground). We then looked at the weather forecast on the east coast and decided to head to Savannah, GA. Then in May we went to Virginia Beach.

Having a motorhome before COVID hit was the best thing and made dealing with a pendemic a breeze.... well... at least as much of a breeze as it could be.

We haven't been out yet. We spend ~7 or 8 months in FL so we are staying at our home here until Mid-May and won't do any camping until late June and July. Then we have our big trip planned starting late August through early October before heding back to Florida.

We are heading to Teddy Roosebelt NP, Glacier NP, Yellowstone, the Tetons, Mount Rushmore and the Bad Lands starting in late August.

We have already booked a campground for October 2022 for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta next year so we are just starting to plan our big trip for 2022.

We are actually going to travel less this year: but camp more...
Due to ongoing health issues; we'll camp in the back yard...

Like Judge we put approximately 7000 miles on our rig from January 2020 through November 2020. We even stayed at one campground at the same time as Judge during the early days of the Pandemic and on our way home from that was when Virginia went into their lock down mode. That did not stop us we later went into Pigeon Forge, TN we then crossed TN and stayed at Loretta Lynn's Ranch Campground. During our round trip to Middlebury, IN we stayed at campgrounds in WV, OH, IN, NC, and SC. Later in the year we rallied with an FMCA Chapter for 5 days in SC.

We found that there was no better way to social distance that traveling in the RV and staying at campgrounds.

First trip under COVID conditions, that was a long time ago.

We took 3 trips last year 2 to Wyoming 1 to Montana and 1 to the Black Hills South Dakota. Already took one trip this year and leaving tomorrow for another one. This whole Pandemic thing has not slowed us down or changed our plans at all.

Travelled a ton since COVID started. Where better to be to avoid it then out in nature?

Fresh air, minimal people, plenty of distancing.

We're on our third trip this year and things are almost back to normal

Biggest concern has been 3 dollar plus diesel and significantly higher prices in restaurants as compared to travel last year

Last year finding restaurants open was a challenge other than take out

Seeing quite a few rigs on the roads but campgrounds have plenty of room

Going to dodge some freezing drizzle today

Great to see more folks on the road this year and so far nothing closed

The RV resort where we have our park model (winter place) has 107 full hookup pull through RV sites. They are fully booked for all weekends between now and Columbus Day. They have a few one day, mid week openings available.

Some of our favorite stops over the years such as Garden of the God's are the same, booked

We're hitting back roads and smaller towns and finding the available sites

State parks as well

Hi Dave

We are also going back to Loretta Lynn's Ranch Campground this summer after we leave Kentucky. When we leave Loretta Lynn's Ranch Campground we head up to Branson for a few days. We stayed at Loretta Lynn's Ranch Campground back in 2019. That was a great find we came across while in our motor home.

Paul

Just got back from our seasonal "shakedown" camping trip (usually have a quick weekend sometime late April/early May to make sure the coach survived Mother Nature's wrath over the winter--all is good). Trip was to the campground I posted the video above of.

Looks a lot different with no snow, and everything turning green LOL.

I posted a 360 to Streetview. You can pan around and checkout the campground (the campers on either side of us are family and everyone who was camping, except for the 1yo, are fully vaccinated).

Don't want to look at streetview, ok:

The campground is only about 30 miles away so the wife drove the fancy car and I drove the RV (fancy car can't be towed).

Thanks Pete!
We're both too stubborn to give up.
