Animal under RV

We have an animal that has moved in under the rv. As far as I can tell it is moving around in the under body. Not a rat. Not a squirrel maybe a raccoon? Poop has lots of seeds. I have traps I put out with food hoping to draw it out. Any suggestions to get it out. I am going to turn on the engine today hoping to get it to move out. No sign of it getting inside so far.

I have an ACE 27.2 class A.

What area would be the under body? Try pouring straight ammonia around and as far up underneath as you can. If you have a sprayer tank, spray it up underneath on as many surfaces as you can reach. The smell of straight ammonia will run the devil out of hell.

If ammonia doesnt work;
(Some animal urine has strong ammonia. They might not care much.)
Dust around and under the rv with cornstarch.
Tracks Will show entrance and their common path.
Likely a opossum, maybe just a cat. Look up the scat/turds on google. Act accordingly.

Strawberry jam, parmesan cheese, mixed in a can of sardines as bait.

Also;
The glue used on sticky traps is sold by the gallon but you might catch a stray cat as a bonus.

You have not mentioned a possibility of a skunk. They do not stink unless they have had to spray. Mothballs do wonders. A lot of animals hate them. They will move out on their own.

Trying that. Just used a small spray bottle but will use the Hudson sprayer later today. Good idea. Thanks.

Used the scat finder. Great idea. 90% sure it’s a Coon. Trap set with marshmallows and bacon. I am going to go get a stronger urine based repellent. Thanks to all for the ideas.

Throw in Graham crackers and chocolate bars and you'll get the navigators down there as well.

Skunks and raccoons eat berries so could be either. We have skunks galore here, and lots of scat with berry seeds. Then I was mowing and saw a pile of what looked like charcoal briquets, w/ elytra (beetle wing covers) and berry seeds- BEAR. So hope the scat is smaller than that!

I get a daily poop from the skunks- my Ring camera has verified. Cute, but stinky. Dark scat w/ berry seeds. Not dog or cat.

Is moving the RV someplace else for a week or two an option, while you try to trap? If not; just a few days may be enough.

In our city, we could take the poop to Animal Control and they identify what it is and actually provide traps to catch with your DL and city residence address ( not a rat though, but you are sure it is not a rat anyway)

Don't laugh, but I have moved my RV just because I saw wasp or dirt dabbers flying near by. It drives them crazy if their newly intended home (shelter) is gone. But at the end of the day, moving the RV is immediate fix and 100% effective.

Our coyote population here live on mostly berries.
Scat look like a granola bar.
Juniper berries mostly, punctuated with pinon nuts and side oats/scorpion grass/blue gramma held together with hair. I think they come out dry.
Scat smells like Lysol/gin.

You all do of course do know why scat is pointed on one end?

I came back to this post this morning both to find out more about the critter and to find out about the pointed end. Zip on both.

I DO know why poo is tapered on the trailing end.

My dad taught me that many years ago, and I have all my teeth because of that feature.

Update on critter under RV

I appreciate all the feedback and some humor. I am pretty sure it’s coon or possum. I used Repel that has a horrible rotten egg, peppers and garlic odor! It attracts flies! Which is a bummer. No luck with the traps I think I will move it tomorrow per suggestion tomorrow if there is any new poop.

When you 1st move it, they will be really aggressive looking around trying to find it. Not sure what kind of traps you have used, but a large Havahart Trap works every time. Go with fresh real bait food. If they are around they will go inside the trap.

#1 Marshmallows.
#2 Whole Egg.
#3 Sweet Corn. ...
#4 Watermelon. ...
#5 Wet Cat Food. ...
#6 Tuna. ...
#7 Bacon. ...
#8 Kitchen Scraps

I have two Havahart Traps (Large & small) and I catch about 20 squirrels on average a month and I only use acorns, but I have caught raccoons, skunks, neighbors cats and yes possums albeit rare with nothing but accorns

Good luck and remember my motto.... Save the Whales and the RVs
