By any chance did you happen to see the code that was flashing before you replaced the Controller?
I just got back from my winter 7 month winter hibernation in Florida and started checking out the coach and have already uncovered an issue I did not expect.
I picked it up from the Thor Service Center right before Christmas after they finished some extensive warranty work. They told me they replaced the rear slide motor because it failed. It worked ok when I picked up the coach but the slide has been retracted all winter (coach stored inside all winter). I put it out and when it went in I saw the back of the slide was not closed all the way.
I went through one re-sync procedure (with the slide extended and closed 6 inches and then extended back fully open three times) but it did not work.
I then tried another re-sync procedure with the slide retracted and only opened a few inches and the closed three times. This worked and the slide full closed.
However, when I tried to full open the slide it would only open about an inch and stop. The Controller is now giving me the dreaded "Wire short between controller and motor" error message.
I am starting to wonder if Thor Service incorrectly diagnosed the problem and installed a new motor when it really is a wiring harness issue. The other possibility is a bad Controller so I wanted to see what kind of codes you experienced.
I don't think I have a bloackage or roller issue because the slides was going in and out ok before the re-sync proecure.
Of course... my warranty is now expired.
I ordered a 20' replacement harness on Amazon that I am going to try and hook up quick and dirty outswide the slide to see if it fixes the issue. If it does, then I need to see if I can find a way to replaced the harness myself if I can find out how it goes from the motor to the Controller within the slide wall itself.
If that does not fix the issue, then I will look at the Controller as a possible issue. Even though the Controller is $375, I almost hope that is the problem because it would be a 15 minute fix vs the nightmare of replacing the wiring harness.
I have an appointment at the Ford dealer tomorrow so I am not going to do anymore today for fear the slide gets stuck extended. I may try the 6 button push to see if I can over-rode the Controller to verify both motors are working.
