audiovox model VE927 screen goes blank

I have a circa 2008 audiovox under cabinet model VE927 lcd dvd drop down screen unit in the kitchen
lately it will come on and the tv screen comes on, then shuts off the screen and sound is still on, but screen goes off. if i cycle the function button through radio, dvd and back to TV , the screen will come on about 50% of the time
you can wiggle screen and it makes no difference at least with any repeatabilty



i guess i should just buy a new one, but its not been abused

any ideas
