Check fuel fill inlet light

Have 21 ACE and the “Check Fuel Fill Inlet” light came on the dash display while driving. I checked the cap and it was tight. I opened and closed again and cleared the warning light on dash. All was good until we got home and parked. When I started the coach again the light came on again! Is there a sensor somewhere that may be bad? Cap looked ok only 4,700 miles on coach.

Never knew there was such a light. Since Thor modifies the fuel vent/fill lines when they choose where to install the body-side assembly, check your fuel line from that point to the tank...also check the vent line. Today's tanks operate under pressure and you may have an "air leak" somewhere along those lines. Could also be the venting mechanism in the cap itself. It will be interesting to follow this post.

The “check fuel fill inlet” warning light may be a sign of the following:

A missing fuel cap
A loose fuel cap
A damaged fuel cap
Fuel pap is screwed on too tight
There is debris in the fuel fill inlet
Possible debris stuck in fuel fill inlet
A vacuum pressure leak

Fuel cap is a standard Ford part and comes from the factory along with the naked chassis...call any dealer and give the the VIN of the chassis.

Now that all the serious stuff has been taken care of:
The
Fuel fill light
Was the same as
Muffler bearings
When I was a kid.

Except muffler bearings never existed was was something to get idiots looking for non-existent crap. That was the same as the left handed crescent wrench or sky hook for lifting engines.

The sensor for the system is usually at the bottom of the "Evap" canister which is under the hood.

You could have an EVAP system problem. Have you pulled codes?

If it's not in limp mode, it's not dire.
Some lights require multiple cycles to clear the warning for good.

I started up again after lubing the seal on cap, check fill light still on. Connected a code reader And cleared all codes. Light went off. I then ran a complete system scan and no errors reported. Will wait and see next time I start it up. Ordered a new cap just in case.

Did you look up the codes on the internet or just clear them? It might be helpful to know what the PCM was having issues with.
