How to reduce excess weight from coach!
The title is supposed to be a bit of a joke.
I am amazed at the crap I have found inside cabinets under the drawers, inside the compartment under the bed (with all the electronics)
Our coach is a 2019 with one previous owner who didn't do any mods or work.
Only had 4,200 miles when we purchased.
There were tons of loose screws, lots of sawdust(I am ok with this).
There were at least 6 loose screws under one cabinet and none of them were the same. Maybe Thor gave me these as spares? (another joke)
Curious what other crap folks have found, if anything hidden in the areas you don't normally see.

My 2018 Outlaw had enough wood screws laying in and underneath everything; that I could have used them to build a cabinet for my dining room with them.

Several years ago, we found a full roll (25') of plastic "gimp" underneath one of the bunk bottoms in our new Sprinter TT. Made a very noticeable bulge in the thin Luan and I had to remove about 20 screws to get the plywood up far enough to get it out! I have had, as a result, written into the "make ready" sheet for new rigs a statement that says "all sawdust in vents, ducts, and behind light fixtures must be removed before purchase". This is usually broad enough so that random screws, pieces of wire, small tools and tie-wrap tails get vacuumed up as well!

Like others, I found bunches of screws. I also found a strut that holds open the overhead cabinet doors as well as a plastic latch for a drawer. Not to mention enough sawdust to make a sheet of press wood that Thor uses to build the cabinets.

None of the Thor manufacturing facilities have a shop vac. By you hauling away the sawdust and spare screws you are saving them about $.47 per manufactured unit.

With enough screws, rivets and washers: you could probably open a hardware store...

”How to reduce excess weight from coach!”
I thought this would be a thread on how to put RVs on a diet.
Like with people, reducing is a lot harder than gaining.

Thor left a lot of masking tape in our furnaces and water heater after painting. Good thing the safety over ride would not let the furnace stay lit. The dealer and I had a good laugh. I took it in as opposed to taking it off myself since it was brand new and still under warranty and I was not yet full time in it. Ended up being just under two pounds of tape! Guess paint is heavy.

One week ago my slide siezed up on the right hand side and the motor jumped out of the block on the left hand side and twisted itself up in it's own wiring. I spent hours trying to get the motor back in, only to discover that caulk had somehow fallen into one of the set pins for the motor. As soon as I dug the caulk out, the motor dropped completely in! The retention screw had never been tightened all the way!!! Why did the slide bind to begin with you ask, after six years of bouncing up and down the road, this piece of framing had wedged itself under one of the rollers!!!

I wasn't that lucky but in the Challenger I found a couple of no-name screwdrivers under the false bottom of a bedroom cabinet. Pulled them out and that clunking sound going down the road stopped.
In the Accolade I haven't found anything, not even sawdust. I do from time to time get a little styrofoam blow into the LED light lenses.

Ours was clean... I haven't found anything more than the dust that collects over time...
